Tell me friends... If I wanted to play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for the first time, what order should I follow? What mods do you suggest?
Start with Shadow of Chernobyl and then Call of Pripyat.
Don't mod till you beat them.

No mods, release order, master difficulty.
SoC>CoP CS if you like the series.
Obligatory "Don't mod it first playthrough" post so you know what's been changed and what improves if. If you're absolutely dead set on modding it because you're a dumb little shit; Autumn Aurora 2 Semi-vanilla like experience with graphical overhaul and two or three new weapons, less shit weapon balancing and one or two new features.
As for CoP I wouldn't know, there's only a handful of mods and they're all not very good.

I would not use any Mods except for maybe one that fixes all the bugs.
Vanilla SoC has some problems when I played it.
