Good game but drags on a bit towards the end
Pretty good, but it's too long and because of that it falls apart. Eventually you get all the tools you need to handle any threat and the Alien becomes more of an annoyance than anything.

Also nice hyperbole. Anyways. The game is mechanically solid and the only complaint I have for the doors is that the animation could have been shorter, but that's it. It all felt satisfyingly... clunky, I guess? LIke everything in this universe is very robust and strong, but also dated.
Pretty good but it's one of those games you only play once every few years. Replay value isn't that strong.

They needed to give the alien better tactics against it. Like in the movies, they retreat and try to flank the target. Going to double aliens earlier would have been nice too.

Pretty decent. The Synthetics ruin it, it's overly long and gives you way too much of a fighting chance as the game goes on.
It's terribly overrated by /v/ though. People consider this solid 6.5 to be an 8 or 9/10 game.

A decent game that gets way too much praise around here. It looks great and sounds, and plays pretty well. But the game isn't scary for very long, the AI is easy to abuse, and there is a ton of padding. It's well worth the discounted price you can find it for now but it's not anything amazing.

The rubberbanding kills it. The tension and feeling of uncertainty is deflated because there can never be a false sense of security when you know the alien is going to be tethered to your hip at all times.

This right here was the game's biggest problem. The abundance of filler content didn't help either, but the rubberbanding completely kills the tension. It's never a question of "is the alien nearby?" be cattle answer is always "yes". It stops being scary when you expect it. I don't know what they were thinking. It's a big ass station with multiple survivors running around but the alien only cares about you.

Very good. Best points are the games artful design (recreates the feel of the first film really well) and the excellent Xeno AI (sets up so many organic cat and mouse encounters). Genuinely scary and tense gameplay, I found it stressful to play at times. As others have said, the final act feels padded and around 3 hours should have been cut from the game, story wasn't really all that excellent anyways. I'd recommend playing it on hard mode on your first playthrough to get the most out of it - the devs recommend this also.

I don't know who you're trying to fool. I bought the game at launch and played through it, and the amount of unnecessary fetch quest bullshit and padding was ridiculous. I don't think I've even read a single review for the game either, as like I said I preordered the game and was already committed to buying it. It wasn't bad but it WAS too long for the amount of actual content they had. It has nothing to do with being casual, as the game's easy as fuck regardless.
