CPU is almost 6 years old

every generation of CPU i think I should upgrade but my cpu tells me no because it still runs every game fine with no bottleneck

maybe in 2018 or something, or until intel actually makes something worth upgrading to...

GPU - yeah this thing sucks, getting a 470 or maybe 480 in a couple weeks

Still run a 3.33ghz Core2Duo and a GeForce 560. My main Sata HD has 93gb on it. I also use Vista. Still plays anything I've wanted though obviously I couldn't care less about graphics. It's a little beasty machine.

Might a well throw your money straight into the garbage taking such small steps. Just get a 760-780

Thoughts on this build?

Building my first pc. Am I missing anything? Can I replace things to reduce price?

Goal is to play recent games in decent quality. Doesn't have to be like ultra 4k or anything though.

For a brief moment, I forgot AMD was even a thing.

Can't be bothered making a screenshot so i'll just post simple specs here:

CPU: i5 2400 @ 4x3.1Ghz
GPU: r9 270x
8gb ram

Can't comment much on other builds cause i'm not an expert at parts and stuff.

Probably gonna make an entirely new pc with the new rx 480 and a better i5.

>>342021069
2.7ghz seems a bit slow for a cpu, at least i think so.
Might want to wait before you get the 390 cause the new rx 480 is apparently better than than the 390 and supposedly cheaper. At least wait until it releases to see if the 390's prices drop.

Huh, I heard new GPUs were coming out but I assumed they would be more expensive. I also heard that they get sold out and you have to wait like a month to get them. Is that true?

For an OEM/prebuilt, this doesn't seem so bad. I put it through pcpartspicker, and it had similar cost. Though hard to use PPP with vague parts.
>>
>>342021750

RAM is more then enough. CPU is decent, too. With a good graphics card it should last for at least 3 years, maybe a litlle more.

Honestly can't tell you if they get sold out.
One of the things AMD has been hyping up was "VR" performance for $200. Which is insanely cheap with the performance you get.

If you buy this card instead of the 380, odds are you'll get better performance, and a card that lasts you a longer time before needing to upgrade.(Assuming that the card is actually this good).

Are you still running games as well as you'd like/are you happy with how your pc is handling games?
If yes, don't upgrade.
If no, then it's time to upgrade.

I don't know why but in Canada they charge us $400 for a Rx 480. I hope the currency conversion rate is not 2 to 1 now.
