Games where you loose your inventory and have to get it back
are the worst kind of games.

farcry 3 and dark messiah of might and magic come to mind
that was also the most fun mission in farcry 3, since you don't go in OP as fuck
Thief: Deadly Shadows
Metroid Prime
That shit drives me mad!
Half-Life

Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy XII, Oracle of Ages, Skyward Sword at the top of my head.
Every RPG ever made?
Minecraft, Terraria

I think it's legally required for the genre.
kotor
I unironically enjoy this.

MGS. At least in PW and MGS 3. Also NV when you play DM and I think when you meet the BoS for the first time (although I usually go with Veronica now to bypass that part).

Same here. I like when games force you to rely on the old basics for a bit again.

I think it's a cheap way to make you feel overwhelmed by a situation, where instead they could have just raised the stakes for that particular section otherwise. I don't despise it though.
>game takes away inventory
>you're an unarmed specialist
>SH2
>Now you have nothing to defend your self from the monsters with
>Made all the more terrifying by you manually giving up all your items to proceed instead of just the game taking them away from you
Fable did this right.
Makes you lose your weapons because you're in prison, so it makes sense.
It's only for a short section of the game and you get them all back.
It gives you a feeling of helplessness.
Dying Light
Happens twice, both times suck
Dragon Age Origins
>playing 1st time
>bro in prison asks me who do I think will come to save me
>pick dog and Leliana because I thought it's only a dialogue options
>fucking madmen came to rescue me and I have to play whole quest as my 2 weakest party members

>Dragon Quest IX
>Has a segment in a prison where you're stripped of your equipment
>It's actually just all in your inventory and you can put it on whenever
>NPC tells you to fast travel to the nearest town to go collect your party before facing the boss

>game takes away your arms
>you're an un-armed specialist

In Thief: Deadly Shadows you can get jailed one time. If you do, you lose all your shit and have to sneak out extremely carefully.
>>341995962
>get jailed in Oblivion
>know an Open Very Hard Lock spell and Hokuto Shinken
Sometimes the jailbreaks are more fun than committing the crimes.
anyway,geralt doesnt even need it
Any games where you lose your inventory and don't actually get it back?
That would be an interesting alternative.

There are multiple times in LISA where this can happen. It's a turn based RPG though, so it's not that terrible if it does.
In San Andreas you lose your weapons twice at least.

>got to the Blackbird in Chrono Trigger
>Ayla was in my party

Cry of Fear
It also HALVES YOUR FUCKING INVENTORY
>>341995538
Doesn't happen in Arcanum.
