was really excited for this, never played it on PS2 and it looked amazing. But i tried the demo and was really boring, just advance, not a real challenge or anything, still, it looked beautiful. my question is, does the demo reflects the final game or not? what changes? because right now im not gonna buy this despite everyone saying its really good.
The final game has a ton more to do.
For one thing you have a difficulty setting.
The demo does not adequately give you a feel for the character progression and skills.
Vanillaware games always look and sound absolutely gorgeous, butthey don't tend to be very good, sadly.
When has a Demo ever reflected the full game properly? Just buy it used you queer.
To answer your question yes, the game can get difficult and the combat is really fun as you progress. It can get borderline DMC or Ninja Gaiden. It has a shit ton of content and a fun crafting system. I made a massive potion set and beat a boss with it after dying 5 times.

Vanillaware games are straight up dog shit in terms of Gameplay, Story, and OST. The only thing they're known for is having a good art direction, and that's not enough to make them not shallow pieces of shit.

Also for those wondering whether to get the games on PS3 or not, both Dragon's Crown and Odin Sphere Leifrasir are 1080p 60 FPS on PS3 and are identical to their PS4 versions, there is no reason to get them on PS4 if you can get them cheaper on PS3.
PS3 also has the advantage of having the PS2 Classic GrimGrimoire on PSN, PS4 doesn't have it.

Sakimoto is the Ogre Battle/Tactics, Ivalice Final Fantasy games and Valkyria Chronicles composer. I fucking love his music.

I seriously considered returning Odin Sphere back in the day, one of the most boring games I have ever forced myself to finish.
If you enjoy Valkyrie Profile 1 + 2, you might like this game. If you found yourself constantly falling asleep, then avoid this.

Vanillaware games are flawed masterpieces. They've mastered a particular type of action gameplay but not learned how to pace it it with downtime sections or how to cohere it to the storytelling. They've mastered a visual aesthetic but not learned how to present mechanics and objectives without artificial dialog boxes or abstract shapes that represent rooms. Despite being deeply flawed they're still some of my favorite games.
