Why are people hyped for Skyrim Remastered for consoles?

The 64bit support that comes for the PC version is important for mods, but console users are just getting ENB and mesh improvements that PC have had for years.
>>
>console users are just getting ENB
lol, they fucking wish
>>
>>341968303
Console version is also getting mod support

Just coming in here to cry for a bit.

>Upgraded my previous card to a 970 purely because I wanted to play a modded out the ass Skyrim
>The whole >3.5 meme actually, legitimately bit me in the ass
>PC keeps locking up and requiring a hard restart
>Cannot ever get the game looking how I want it too
Yes, I am mad. Even now, despite it being just over a year since this happened.

Console users will never get Frostfall

>but console users are just getting ENB and mesh improvements that PC have had for years.

Which console users have never had. Hence why they are hyped for it.

You answered your own question, or is this bait? It is bait isnt it.
>>
>>341968303
overworld designers for skyrim didn't have an ounce of imagination
>>
>>341968303
I think consoles are getting "mod support".

As in the shitty version of console mods.
>>
>>341968303
Skyrim was more popular on consoles than PC, which is sad since Skyrim is garbage without mods. Heck, even mods can't fix the mess Skyrim is, but at least its pretty for its age when it's heavily modded.
>>
>>341969439
Then you're not modding it properly.
I Have 250 mods, 8k textures everywhere, new LOD, enb, 1440p and it stays at 60fps no matter what with a 970.
>>
>>341968303
Because it's the game they loved but with a higher resolution/frame rate/better textures/better lighting/better overall performance and with mods

Same for PC. Why is this difficult to understand?

The 3.5 thing is just a meme and has little if any effect on performance in games. The most VRAM modded Skyrim will ever use is about 2.5gb. The problem is on your end.
>>
>>341969637
>Bethesda please

Jesus christ, I know people are dumb, but goddamn.
>>
So what exactly does the 64-bit upgrade mean for mods?
>>
>>341969621
Going to quite literally have to call bullshit on that considering I couldn't get it to run with 2-4k textures everywhere and at 1080p at over 40 fps.

>>341969687
>The most VRAM modded Skyrim will ever use is about 2.5gb.
That simply cannot be true. I've used one of those vram measuring things and as soon as it hits the 3.3-3.5ish range my PC locks up and requires a hard restart.
That is literally the characteristics of the 970 in a nutshell.

>>341969784
For the end user, higher performance without the constant crashes due to tile overload

For the modder, you can optimize your content for 8/16GB instead of 32-bit 3.5GB meaning much larger/detailed tiles.
>>
>>341969784
It essentially just means that you're a fucking loser for caring about the worst Elder Scrolls game
>>
>>341969784
It means you will be able to install more mods on an unmodified Skyrim, without installing memory patches.
>>
>>341969935
>soon as it hits the 3.3-3.5ish range my PC locks up and requires a hard restart.

categorically bullshit right there.
>>
>>341969784
Regular Skyrim is limited to using something like 3.1GB of memory and anything beyond that makes it crash on the spot. That means if you go overboard with mods, you'll just get CTDs.

64bit executable wouldn't have that problem. ut even for regular Skyrim, there are tools that help with this issue so it's not all that important.

For 1080Plebs maybe but I regularly use 6/7GB of VRAM at 3440x1440 and 2560x1440

>>341969968
pic related

>>341970025
The memory patches caused a lot of issues and a native 64-bit executable is MUCH better than anything modders could've done.
>>
>>341970080
>Oblivion has the best gameplay
>Skyrim has the worst DLC
I don't understand
>>
>>341968303
Part of it is a bethesda game with mods on consoles for the first time, another part is simply poorfags who want to play the game on current consoles because they sold their old ones and have no way to play it anymore.
>>
>>341970203
Morrowind had Tribunal
Oblivion had Shivering Isles

Oblivion didn't have kill streak shit and Arkane didn't come in and casualize the combat

Did I clear that up for you?
>>
>>341969935
Simple question, do you optimize your textures?
Do you combines your mods properly?
Do you clean your save files?
Do you have a proper load order?
Do you tweak your .ini files?
Do you use mod organizer?
Or do you simply dump mods into your game folder?

I ran Skyrim with 2k textures+light enb 60fps 1080p on a 1gb 6950 anon.

As for the 3.5gb meme, the only game that went over it was Dying Light at 1440p, and nothing happened.
>>
>>341970346
>prefers Tribunal over Bloodmoon
>>
>>341969961
>>341970042
Are these improvements only important for graphics mods, or could they improve things for scripted/gameplay mods as well?
>>
>>341969935
my 970 handles 2k and 4k textures at 1440p, ultra, constant 60 fps. Your card just sucks anon
>>
>>341968303
>important for mods
You mean it'll break SKSE and most likely an extremely large amount of engine hacks? Oh yeah, very important, other than that it'll likely be more unstable than a fully modded Skyrim right now.
>>
>>341970461
It could lead to significantly better gameplay overhauls that are absolutely massive, but just individual "fix combat" or "fix alchemy" mods? You won't see a benefit.

You will see a much better vanilla game and much better performance though.

Tbh I'm just excited about another initial rush of content creation. Might get some good mods out of that now that we're not limited.
>>
>>341970429
Wait, did you upgrade from a 6950 to a 970? Because that was quite literally my upgrade path.

>Do you combines your mods properly?
Didn't combine them at all.

>Do you clean your save files?
Yes

>Do you have a proper load order?
I used...BOSS/LOAD/Whatever the fuck it's called. It's been over a year so I can't remember.

>Do you tweak your .ini files?
Yes

>Do you use mod organizer?
Yes
>>
>>341970707

What engine hack was important besides lifting the memory limit?

You're insane if you think SKSE won't be fixed in 48 hours after release.

enjoy your frame drops due to memory limitations. Should've been smart and got a 390

>Skyrim was more popular on consoles than PC

you literally cannot know this. psn and live don't publish their live data. as far as steam goes tracking data only goes as far back as 2013 and even since then skyrim on steam has had 35-40k players 24/7 for years.
>>
>>341970768
Yes because it's using multi threading properly now thanks to the Fallout 4 version of Creation Engine.

>>341970795
Because you know, Skyrim made the vast majority of its money on Steam instead of consoles, right? :^)

Took me about 3 hours with 80+ mods. Git gud son.
>>
Why are they remastering the worst game in the series instead of Morrowind or Oblivion?
>>
>>341972416
Because Oblivion and Morrowind would be full on remakes rather than remasters you dumb fuck

Pete Hines has already said Morrowind remake/remaster NEVER EVER because it'd take just as much/if not more time than making an Elder Scrolls 6
>>

Not even 4k has become the standard. Most
>>
>>341971676

>>

Good luck with those great mods without SKSE, mod organizers or access to the fucking filesystem to tweak things.

It's going to be like steam workshop but even worse.
>>
>>341972808
You're acting as if those things won't be added/fixed within 24-48 hours of the remaster

This is using the Fallout 4 engine so they'll have to make minor tweaks to the Fallout 4 script enhancer and the NMM
>>
>>341973040

The game is flawed in itself. A new engine won´t fix shit. I won´t even pirate it unless they have fixed a lot of things.

Why? Just fucking why? It looks like hot garbage, and you can only see 30 meters in front of you. Autistic amounts of post-processing doesn't make a game look good. Just fix the lighting and the colors and leave it at that. If you want blur, please douse your eyeballs in bleach
>>
>>341973147
The new engine lifts the limitations that were keeping us modders from fixing the stuff we hadn't already fixed
