I'm sure it'll be great in a couple of years after I've pirated 10 of its dlcs, but as it stands now I was sorely disappointed. You can clearly see the seams where they ripped out features of EU4/V2/CK2 so they can sell them to us later as DLCs, its disgusting. It also really bothered me that the planet cap is so low, why is the game so dead set on not letting me micromanage pops when controlling pops is so streamlined compared to vicky2? You just drag and drop, its fun.
It feels like the whole game is just a DLC scheme.
Fuck Stellaris and fuck new Paradox.

I hate how overpowered the UK is. They were not that powerful that they could afford to lose 18 divisions in a failed invasion of Italy during the early stages of WW2. The UK is basically more powerful than Germany, which is a complete farce as they shouldn't be.

Pirated, played quite a few hours over the course of a couple days, deleted it.
Has no lasting appeal, it's barebones as fuck with shitty AI, no diplomacy to speak of, repetitious and retarded event spam, and a useless UI that makes everything more difficult than it should be.
One of the worst 4x games I ever played.
MoO 2 is substantially better, and that's pretty fucking sad.

It's got awful AI and some unbalanced units, but that's about the extent of it.
It is otherwise just HOI3 but better.
That doesn't mean it's particularly good though - HOI3 and HOI2 are fucking awful and both required mods to make them worth bothering with. HOI4 is basically the first game in that series that's even playable out of the box. That's a huge step up from the previous games.
Anyone saying HOI4 is shit compared to the older ones is blinded by a massive pair of nostalgia goggles.

It's just easier to maintain updates and shit. Especially most torrents offer old versions of the game, it's impossible to find updates to the newest version and most mods require the newest version of the game.
