Why is this game fucking structured like this? The original formula was perfect.

I was just getting back into it when suddenly it's doing these shitty micro games again.

Because it's a game for children. The challenge train more than makes up for it, and sometimes is more stressful than fun.
>>
I don't think I've seen a single thread about this game that wasn't complaining about something
>>
>>341962648
Once you get to Lush Tower it's fine. There's plenty of challenge to be had in Megamix. I really don't see why so many people are complaining.

It's because the first half of the game is basically 30 second bits of games with story just thrown in there every four levels that you can't skip, every four or so full courses you're forced to do a minigame just to pass onto the next level, and it isn't until you're like 8 to 12 courses in before you finally get proper length songs at which point it's basically over. The worst part is that there's only a handful of new games and they're fantastic but you're forced to tread old ground constantly to get to them, and while the old games are fun you want more of the new ones rather than the old ones.

The goat can also just go away forever.

It made a number of terrible design choices

This is my first Rhythm Heaven game.
I've been enjoying it so far.

Donna is a CUTE
>>
I'm a bit annoyed they call the lumberjack a bear when it seems pretty clear he's a timber wolf. Other than that, I'm enjoying myself (even as I miss the original versions of some returning stages. Fever's Flipper Flop was one of my favorites).

Girl.
Eglantine is best girl, however.

How about you stop moving all over the place when I finally pinpoint the spot to shoot the turnip?

Fuck you, you are pachinko and not rhythm.

The hell does he do, anyway?

So you get Flow Balls only the first time you complete each train challenge and when you perfect a song, meaning you can't grind for them. Does this mean if I want to buy all the extra rhythm games in the store, I need to 100% perfect every song in the game and finish all the train challenges?

Did different devs work on this game?

New character designs look so off to me. Like if Rhythm Heaven was a bootleg of itself.

I keep spending all my coins on the goat. What do you do in the train challenge?
>>
fucking sumo bros is the best new game. that song is magic
>>
>>341966189
Complete a few assorted rhythm games to get 1 measly Flow Ball which you need to buy the old rhythm games in the store (where each game costs at least 4 Flow Balls or so up to 12). The tempo in the rhythm games get progressively higher in the later challenges so it's actually pretty difficult later on.

>>341966326
My nigga. I've been listening to that one even before the game was localized.

>>341965587
Every 10 levels he lays a golden egg containing a mascot figure thing of one of the game's NPC characters which you can view from the museum curator and appears in the loading screen occasionally.
>>
>>341966467
Thanks, good to know.
>>
>>341966048
No, I still had three songs to perfect and all of Paprika's challenges left when I bought the last game from the store.

It's the little things. What other minigames do this shit?

>mash A at the end fade-out of a song

>played the song perfectly otherwise
>>

It's because of some questionable choices. Main issue seems to be the story and the retarded gateway challenges.

Others seem to be the old games vs new games ratio. I understand why Nintendo did that though, since this was really just meant to be a celebration of RH in general since it seemed like it was potentially going to be Tsunku's last game before he kicked the bucket. Luckily he just got away with losing his vocal cords.

Back when the jp version had been released, there were a few threads without people mostly complaining about stuff.
>>
>>341971678
Guess there'll be round 3 in a few months then when EU gets their turn.
>>
Never played any of these games. Should i wait for this to release in EU or just grab the original?
>>
>>341964310
So for someone who's never played a game in the series would this be a decent one to go into?

I'd say even for a person new to the series the first couple hours are going to be a pain due to how slow it goes, how much you're forced to sit through, and how long it takes to just get to the actually normal length songs. It's alright, don't get me wrong, it's just the start leaves a real bad taste in your mouth with how easy and short the levels are, and it's like 40 something levels of it.

is there any way to earn coins other than playing casually? perfects and the challenge train only reward flow orbs.

I would personally recommend you to try any of the previous games first.
