The Windows store makes PC gaming much easier for people who are new to PC gaming/uses to console gaming, because Microsoft wants to fight Sony by making PC gaming even more mainstream. They don't care so much about selling the games, they care about bolstering the number of people that are willing to use their storefront on Windows 10. There's probably some research out there that says that once somebody buys a single product somewhere, they are much more likely to return. I know free-to-play games use the exact same psychology when it comes to their microtransaction bullshit. You just have to get your foot in the door. The point is, Microsoft is thinking long term when they put their first party games on the W10 store.
