Easily better than New Vegas. A fuckton of content around every corner, amazing landmarks to visit, and no walking on some stupid sand for miles. Also best DLC. Easily one of the greatest games Besthesda made.

Nigger I thought the same the first time I played it.
I couldn't get over the controls at first after coming from beating The Third, but I sat down and gave it a honest chance a couple days later and enjoyed it a great amount.
The PC port is just fucked, that's all. Install Gentlemen of the Row and hope it doesn't spontaneously crash. The game itself is great, way more gritty than the two later games but still pretty silly in some regards.

if only they had hired a competent writer to build up on the backstory to Borderlands 1 and returned with the exact same loot system as borderlands 1 with the new gameplay improvements in borderlands 2, then it would be a truly great game with probably enough lasting time as Diablo 2.
