Do people with jobs play multiplayer games?

Isn't it hard to keep up with NEETs and Unicucks?
>>
In my experience neets play survival games because they can simply invest more hours in them than others and win by sheer time spent, rather than relevant skill.
>>
i work from home, so yes
>>

They play with other people who also have jobs, and ignore the rest.

Now you may understand why consoles continue to sell, as well.

You can play for a few hours a day and still be ahead of most people.

>Do people with jobs play multiplayer games?
Yes.
>Isn't it hard to keep up with NEETs and Unicucks?
No because contrary to popular belief most of them are just as shitty at video games as everyone else, they just get hit harder by the dunning-kruger effect.

I've had a full-time job now for over 2 years and I still manage to put in 8hrs a day into gaming.

Couple hours to do whatever I have to do in the meantime.

When you love something, you'll always find time.
>>
>>341939737
>I've had a full-time job now for over 2 years and I still manage to put in 8hrs a day into gaming.
>Couple hours to do whatever I have to do in the meantime.

So let me get this straight: you get 6 hours of sleep a night, assuming you counted transportation and getting ready for work in those "couple hours" of free time? And this is assuming you do 8 hour shifts at your full time job, and not the 8.5 or 9 most jobs require? You sound like you're full of fucking shit. Nobody with a full time job can devote 8 hours a day to any other task.
>>
>>341938681
So the statement you're making here is that you feel that all multiplayer games allow players who play ir 24/7 to have some sort of advantage?

yes I get about 6hrs of sleep a night (but that is all I need to function properly throughout the day). You can say I've accustomed myself to a sleep schedule so much that my body naturally wakes up at a certain time, no matter how much sleep I've had.

I only live a couple blocks away from where I work and yes they are 8hr shifts.

Life isn't as complicated as you're making it out to be. Atleast my life isn't.
>>
>>341940217
40 hour shifts are maximum for some full time jobs in some number of states, including mine. Five days with 8 hour shifts, meaning two free days. For work days exclusively, if he only slept 6 hours, that's 10 hours of free time.

He's pretty dedicated to his hobby, at least.

I recently started working full time and it is significantly more difficult to dedicate time to play vidya anymore between shifts, working out, school, and sleeping. I had to quit playing FFXIV because I just didn't have to raid and shit anymore.

The only games I play anymore are Overwatch and Heroes of Might and Magic. I remember being depressed because all my friends were working good jobs and I was behind just playing vidya all day. And then I finally got a good full-time job and I miss playing vidya. The grass is always greener on the other side I suppose.
>>
I managed to clock in over 250 hours in Xenoblade X by the end of January when I had a 40 hour a week job. Just devote 5 hours a night on average to vidya and you can go places quick.

Of course it helps that I don't do anything else, like clean or cook.
>>
You're assuming NEETS have enough drive to actually get good at a multipalyer game.

I put like 8k hours into Quake/TFC/TF2 when I was younger and even though I might only play an fps for maybe an hour or two once in a while I'm still a god

I just wish there was a game actually worth being good at, overwatch hp/damage is so fucked up that it practically feels like call of duty with how fast you can kill people/get killed by random shit

Everything these days seems to have matchmaking which means being amazing means nothing as all your matches are difficult instead of it becoming a relaxing murder spree as you enter the top <1% of skill levels
>>
wagecuck here
I prefer single player and co-op games only. It's not awesome having some guy scream at his team in a foreign language after a tiresome day or during the weekends.
>>
If you work full time and play a game like overwatch you don't have to worry about level 200+ players because they're still bad at the game even after all that game time. Time spent does not correlate to skill
>>
>>341938681
Play for fun, not competition, of course. Besides, you need a job to play these games. How else do you get income?

Being productive improves your attitude which makes you more receptive to learning from your mistakes and thus, better. Most NEETs, despite investing tons of time, are utter shit at games. The closest thing to an exception are professional players who do nothing else but practice and compete, but they get paid for it and are thus not NEET.
>>
>>341944859
sounds like the life
>>
Here it is.

When I first got a job, even though I only worked about 36 hours a week (technically like 30 hours plus 6ish more getting to and from work), I just never felt like I had enough time to do anything.

In reality, I actually had a shit load of time, but my brain wasn't registering all the time I had because I was thinking about the next day at work too much.
I'd get home from work and spend the rest of the day thinking "man, I've got to go back to work tomorrow". So I'd waste the entire rest of the day doing nothing because I was so consumed with work the next day.

If you learn to avoid doing this, you actually find out you've still got plenty of time to do other stuff.

>After college is suffering

Why did I have to get into fighting games so late in my life? How do you have energy for any hobby let alone competitive gaming?

It's incredibly hard. I have 50+ work weeks and my group of friends (unemployed/part time) will give me shit for not being as good.

I finally have enough money to buy whatever games and related stuff I want, but now no longer have the time to appreciate them. I should just quiet and become a NEET.

Did they finish school completely and are still not working/having dead end jobs? Because if that's the case then your friends might not be very bright. I mean, it already sounds like they're not, if they're doing shit middle of the day and giving you flak for not joining in while you're at your fucking job.

>>341938681
I work 40-72 hours a week (during crunch time) and I exclusively play MP games. Most SP games, especially games /v/ likes like The Witcher and Final Fantasy have very little meat in between lots of watching and doing repetitive objectives to get anywhere interesting.

With MP my only barrier is my own skill level (unless it's an MMO or some bullshit grind2win game) and I learn fairly quick. Fighting games, tacticool and arena shooters, and anything arcadey are all great for learning at my own pace and most can be enjoyed in short spurts.

I don't understand how busy people can sit down and enjoy a RPG or action/adventure game when most force a bunch of padding to artificially extend the games life. You get nowhere if you only play for 30 minutes and you end up fighting the same enemy with the same meager skillset for days unless you commit hours to some of these games. Meanwhile good MP games give you everything from the start and it's up to you how to use it effectively.

NEETs usually suck at games like they suck at life. That's why they stick to low skill ceiling games
>>
>>341946508
To be fair, only one of them is unemployed. Another joined the army, another works at Home Depot, and the other one is in his 6th year of college. I'm pretty sure I make more money than all of them and I don't even have a degree.

How does anyone live like this?

The most amazing part for me about going from uni to full time employment was no longer having the stress of thinking about "shit that needs doing" whilst I'm taking relaxation/gaming time.

Now I care about my "shit that needs doing" during 9am to 5pm and all the other time I couldn't give a fuck.

I used to have a nine-to-five job and played MMORPGs hardcore (unsurprisingly, mostly was leading a semi-hardcore raid guild in WoW from vanilla to early wotlk.)

I feel its all about time arrangement. When new games or content comes out, you take free time from other activities. Or if you have to be at work, you simply spend the rest of the time gaming, trying to cut off time by, for example, preparing all of your week's meals on the weekend and what not. Cutting from sleep isn't that uncommon either.

I like how you neckbeards think that in oder to be good at video games you have to be a social reject an devote all your time to it.

Thats just an excuse for trash like you,op, to hide your insecurities and shortcomings.

Currently, I play one or two games of Overwatch every few days.
Throughout the past few years, I've played maybe an hour every other day for multiplayer games, and anything between half an hour to two hours every few days of single player games.

I still have over a hundred of single player games to play.

But for multiplayer games, I don't feel like I'm too limited. Sure, I get owned by players who play a lot, but I play casually anyway so I don't mind, and I usually play with friends so there's a little bit of organized play, so that helps.

I don't get the chance to really excel at games like I used to as a kid, but I don't care. I still enjoy it.

Yes. Also despite what you think about Time vs Skill....You have a bell curve too.

It's hard to keep up only on things that require time, not things that require skill.

Games that require farming/grinding/levels etc to get places yes sometimes.

Games where you are actually on a moderately level playing field no, not at all.

I will say though NEETS and Unicucks suck at video games and play them literally all the time for "fun" when really they are just unfulfilled in life and need an escape.

Where as my fellow working men actually play to improve and get better because the time we have is minimal so there's no time to be wasted.

I mean honestly I have a 4 day 10 hour blue collar job with overtime seasonal work and these 20 year olds who play for fun are just complete trash at everything they do. Once their parents die they will get a taste of real life but I'm sure they'll be alive another 30 years and I'll probably have arthritis by then.

Only a shitter believes you will be playing like the pros just because you sit there playing with randoms 10 hours a day.

How you play is what matters, playing with much more skilled players than yours with balanced settings and taking note of the errors you make and work on them is what can help you, but ultimately if youre not too smart or have poor hand eye cordination you will never become a skilled player.
