I have been forcing myself through it for the better part of a year. I like the quests but CDPR's amateur attempts at an open world really fuck up the flow of the game, it feels like for most of the game you're railroaded into a specific direction because any time you try to deviate there's random level 30 fucking drowners to fuck your shit up.
Why the fuck are there level 30 drowners to begin with. I thought the lore was they are supposed to be jobbers; they certainly are in 1 and 2.

owned it since shortly after launch and i am only up to going to the swamp witches and meeting that gollum kid. the game has shitty writing, voice acting, and terrible combat. only thing i like is the feisty girl characters and the beautiful open world. the dungeons are so boring and the fucking combat is pretty much unplayable. it's incredible to me that they seemed to put so much effort into the world-building and lore (even if the va is awful) but left the combat so floaty, unresponsive, unsatisfying, skilless and downright unfair

They are much more linear and the quests are much closer together obviously due to not being open world. I did absolutely everything I could in the first game in 70~ hours on a first attempt, and 50 something on 2, as it is much smaller and more linear.
