Do I really need to explain this yet again? I feel like I'm wasting my breath since you cretins never seem to take any efforts to absorb this. Oh well, here goes. Fallout 4 brought back the original post-apoc RPG SHOOTER (notice the emphasis) that made the series famous from since Fallout 3, the original. New Vegas had multiple aspects I just felt weren't really "in line" with the fallout lore in general. Alot of what made Fallout 4 such a relief was it's return to what Fallout was meant to be, like the setting (east coast) and the character building and whatnot. New Vegas gave me more of a barren desert vibe, along with its overly complicated skill systems and dialogue, it made me feel it was more intended for adults rather than the game's target audience. Overall, I think we're all grateful that Bethesda stuck with the lore rather than making a game with blatant ignorance of the prior ones (cough, cough, obsidian) and that Fallout 4 will go down as the greatest Fallout game (next to 3, of course).

I'm 22 and didn't get any real 'good' games till I was a teen. Most I had really played before was metal of honor games and jak 1 on the PS2. So when I got my 360, one of the first games I got was oblivion, and that was incredible. It was my first true open world games where you were able to carry around more than just two weapons, and to choose armor, spells, ect. Especially considering in games like medal of Honor you only get two weapons at a time. The choices blew my teenage mind out of the water.
So, naturally like all teenage guys, once I found fallout 3 (AKA oblivion with guns), I was instantly hooked. It was the first true, open world, build your own character, weapons and load out game I had played. Plus, I got it while DLC was still being released, so I had the hype of the releases for that still, before the days of waiting a year or two to get a game for dirt cheap on the steam summer sale. It was actually something I was excited for and could look forward to the DLC release.
So I'd say it's about 50% nostalgia, then 50% the actual game. Sure it has some bad points, combat is kind of klunky and awkward (I enjoy it though), the story isn't the best, but I still love it. I probably have over 600 hours all together logged on it, and I still haven't found all the secrets (on multiple play throughs, I like to start over alot). If you seriously take the time to explore every nook and cranny of the game, the developers put some serious detail and cool secrets in it. It deserves better than its meme status desu.
I non-ironically love Skyrim, have put hundreds of hours on it on pc and console and will get the remastered version and play the fuck out of it on my xboxone.

Like I said, I restart alot. I tend to get bored near the end game, so about level 25 I'll start over and go a different direction and do side quests in a different order, just because enemies and quest results due to leveling on different parts of the map will change a bit. Plus, like I said, there are some really neat things you can find if you don't just blast through the dungeons just to kill the enemies. If you take your time to search everything, you can really get the most from your experience.

Fallout 1 and 2 were some of the most popular PC games back then. You're clearly underage. The only reason why Fallout 3 was critically acclaimed was because of how "cool" the VATs system was. Seriously, try to find a positive Fallout 3 review that doesn't gush about how amazing and badass VATs is. I could also go on about how completely terrible the story was, how they completely fucked up the Brotherhood of Steel and the huge number of plot-holes and questionable character motivations the game has but I'll leave that one to something else.

Everyone ridiculed this game as being the easiest of the Soulsborne series, but I can tell you SOTFS kicked my shit in repeatedly. Those DLC bosses were especially brutal. I think /v/ dislikes it mainly because of the changes in mechanics and etc, but overall I loved it as its own experience and come back to it from time to time

People hated it because of it's horrible attack animations, stupidly overpowered pvp builds at the beginning of its life and the sub-par level design (compared to Demon's and Dark Souls). And yes, 2 was much easier than the other games. The only hard boss in the base game was Ancient Dragon, but that's only because of of his bullshit attacks that one-shot you with ridiculous spread and range. Personally I did not have any trouble with the DLC bosses but apparently people find Fume Knight to be difficult too. The only thing I liked from 2 was its PvP was great after all the bullshit builds died down and it's god-tier fashion. Other than that it's a pretty weak game in an amazing series.

Interplay went broke because they DIDN'T make another Fallout sequel. 1 and 2 were successful as fuck. When it all went wrong was when the original heads of Interplay left, and Herve Caen took over and directed the company to make Brotherhood of Steel instead of finishing Fallout 3. Then after that flopped and was hated by everything, you know what that idiot did? He made them start working on Brotherhood of Steel 2.
They never got to finish Fallout 3 and without releasing a game that actually sold, they went out of business. The scary thing is, the jackass is still the CEO of Interplay today.

I really tried to link NV, and while I cant put my finger on exactly why I don't like it, the two main things for me is 1) the desert just felt way to expansive and empty for me, just not my cup of tea. And 2) the karma system. Karma is pretty much non existent in NV, it's all faction based. If they would've kept the faction system how it was, but also used the karma system from Fallout 3 (stealing always looses karma, ect), I think I would've liked it more. Perhaps if having very evil karma would've helped you gain more status or items in the legion, and very good doing the same in the NCR. I think I put 60 hours into a play through and I only gained or lost karma once or twice, which is shitty in my mind. Also, I definitely prefer the DLC I'm fallout 3 to that of nv. But, can't argue that it did improve alot on some aspects in fallout 3. I wouldn't say new Vegas is a bad game, I'm just not a fan off it.

Things that I think Fallout 3 did better:

- game pacing
- some main quests are really cool
- better radio
- world looks better
- with broken steel Fallout 3 is harder

I really did enjoy Skyward Sword when it first came out. Ancient Cistern's one of my favorite dungeons in the series.
