But 99% of these cases are coming out of one tiny district in Texas where the judges and lawyers are blood relatives and NEVER throw out cases or make the companies pay for the defendants' legal fees. Hell, there are more than a few cases where the fucking lawyers ARE THE ONES WHO OWN THE PATENTS.
I wouldn't doubt it if 99% of all patent lawsuits are coming from the same 5-6 judges or lawyers. By which I mean, they actually own the patents, set up shell corporations so nobody knows it's them, and then represent themselves or the defendants in a legal battle with their relatives as the judges.

Pretty sure you don't. It has to be in a very specific context or usage. You can't just own the word "Sky".
Problem is that if a lawyer or patent clerk "fucks up" (read: gets paid off big time), and awards you with that patent or trademark anyways, it's monumentally difficult to overturn. End result, you now own the word "Sky" in all contexts and situations, and getting that changed will cost you way more than you'll ever be able to make in one lifetime - and they'll be able to defend themselves with ease, because they've probably received millions in settlement money by abusing their falsely-granted copyright / trademark / patent.
