Incentive to play for it. A game should just always have good, rewarding unlockables. This has been something that's been neglected ever since the unholy conception of DLC
Needs more variation if it wants any sort of longevity. More game modes, maybe a loadout system, large-scale and small-scale battle modes instead of just 6v6, and obviously more heroes and maps over time. I'll give Blizzard the benefit of the doubt and say they've got a lot more planned out for the game, and that they're not just pulling a fast one where they'll end support after they've reached a sale target.

I like not having unlockables. Reminds me of a time when very few mp games had them. Really helped with just losing yourself in a match for a while and having fun because the match was the only thing that mattered. Pop into a game of 1942 or q3 or ut and just play a few games. Stat trackers weren't a common sight and most games didn't track or didn't report on k/d. It was nice and less addicting than the skinner boxes games have become now.
I feel bad whenever I get a loot box now because I know it won't be anything exciting, but for some reason I still like getting them. It's always a letdown, even if it's a legendary skin. I feel bad for anyone who bought lootboxes, but they probably feel bad already.
