That's pretty much a given seeing as how you see the ruined Temple of Time right from the beginning.

Spirit Tracks Hyrule takes place in New Hyrule, where there is no Mastersword.
>>
>>341827383

Nope. It's very obviously the original Hyrule. The Temple of Time is the same one from OoT.
>>

They never said that. They just stated that it is possible to get to the final boss without uncovering the story. There's still probably gonna be prerequisites to finishing the game.

Aonuma never said this.
He said you can beat the game without experiencing the whole story.

Why is there the Bridge of Eldin there

Koroks are pretty damning evidence for post WW

>>341827870
I'm pretty sure that was the Great Bridge of Hylia.
Anyway, the existence of Koroks isn't proof that it's in the Wind Waker timeline. The Kokiri do not appear after OoT in any timeline so there's nothing that contradicts them becoming Koroks there.
>>
>>341827870
>Why is the Bridge of Eldin there
The Bridge of Eldin could have always existed in many of the games, just not TP. The geography of Hyrule is mostly malleable with many geographical landmarks changing place in relation to other landmarks. Or maybe after OoT the Bridge of Eldin could have been made by Hyruleans or whatever in every timeline.

>What about the Temple of Time
Temple of Time existed in OoT where all three timelines split from. So I don't really understand your point considering every timeline from that point would include a Temple of Time

>Koroks are pretty damning evidence for post WW
Yeah they do, along with the sea salt rocks. However, Kokiri could've evolved into Koroks in all three of the timelines, not just WW.

Basically, y'all need to stop looking into this so seriously. It's fun n shit to theorize, but at the end of the day Nintendo is gonna do whatever they wanna do and justify it.

so that's the tech they borrowed from monolith soft? ass shapes?
>>
>>341827870
>Koroks are pretty damning evidence for post WW
Why? So sure we know this is the case in Wind Waker. But Kokiri have yet to appear outside of Ocarina of Time. I feel, as cart before the horse as it would be, that the Koroks are infinitely more likely to be the natural form of the Kokiri than their mutated descendants.

My reasoning as follows:
1) Kokiri call a magical demigod tree their dad, and it calls them his children. Everything else that acts this way is a member of the same genus: Great Fairies to Tatl, and Jabu to the Zora. And when the Zora start being birds, they start worshiping something that flies.
2) The Kokiri being an adaptation to fit into the human/hylian encroachment like in OOT's timeframe sure seems to me to fit better a transformative event than "We lived in a forest for a long time and became trees" since Kokiri were presumably living in a forest since their creation.
3) This lends to explaining the Kokiri's symbiosis with fairies in an ass backwards way. Why would Kokiri need guides to side around in the designated safe zone their whole lives? Why don't Koroks, who travel the world to seed plants in Wind Waker have them? The only point I can draw is the mechanical one that is worked into the tutorial in Ocarina of Time. That Kokiri need fairies to do things approximating human movement, like turning your head at an angle away from the front of their body.Something the Koroks can't do because they don't have necks.
4) If the race exists outside of the enclave the Deku Tree made, (which yeah is not a safe bet for BotW) I have a hard time believing they would be anything like the Kokiri. Playful, or lazy children dressed in green, who are assigned a guardian at all times.

Leave the man be, jesus.
>>
>>341827034
It's in the fallen hero timeline.

Link dies, the sages put him in a resurrection chamber and contain ganon in hyrule castle, the country falls into decline and leads to the NES games.

Aonuma has been going on about similarities to OoT and laughing about it so it's likely directly after that, and if Link has only been in the process of resurrection for 100 years there's no way WW could have happened in that period.
>>
>>341826590
A robotic Ganon would be a neat twist, but this appears to just be pure speculation.

Not to mention Aonuma strongly hinted that the game is also connected to Twilight Princess and that he recommended that people play TPHD and previous Zelda games in the series in order to find the "aha! now I see" moments in Zelda U's plot.

Not to mention there's murals like this in castle town. Each tile representing a timeline, which should be fucking impossible for a game that takes place AFTER the split, in the child timeline.

I bet that's the reason they removed towns and NPCs from the demo as well; too many familiar faces and locales hinting at a timeline convergence. Only the koroks managed to say in.

Despite a official timeline, zelda universe is fuck too open, its ages from game to game, like, SS is the beginning of time and WW is 100 years after OoT. The official timeline doesn't make any sense and it is there just to pease the fandom.
>>
>>341832064
Doesn't the child timeline lead to him leaving Hyrule following Ganondorf's banishment to the Twilight Realm? I thought that's how he ended up in Termina? And the Links aren't descended from one another, they're reincarnated. It's fully possible for a new Link to appear even if the previous one died without ever having children.

>>
The Koroks are the exact same as in WW
There was a great sea once
Ganon was sealed 100 years ago
Link has slept for 100 years
Everything is in ruins

I think that this takes place after Link fails to defeat Ganon in OoT
BOTW Link is an imperfect clone, created to let the spirit of the Hero be resurrected without having to wait for a "real" Link to show up again, but the process took one century
Hyrule is in ruins because of the Imprisonment War
Koroks are there because it happens at the same time as WW does in the other timeline, and Hyrule was temporarily flooded to try and stop Ganon but it failed so the goddesses let the waters evacuate, however this still led to most people leaving Hyrule for mountaintops & other nearby land while the sages fought to seal Ganon

it really more to do with the fact that link can leave the adult timeline thereby abandoning hyrule, but he lost was easier to explain than the concept of timeline continuation, theres also a theoretical split at the end of skyward sword due to the same reason

The reincarnation doesn't happen every 100 years though. I think it has been 100 years a couple of times, but otherwise the amount of time is unspecified and implied to be much greater than just one century.

They'd need a clone to have a new Link to defeat Ganon before the seal on Hyrule Castle would break.

There's only been two Ganons bruh, he just keeps getting revived. Ganondorf from OoT is resurrected in practically every game after, except in one where he is reincarnated. Look up the actual timeline page from the Hyrule Historia. It specifically says he is resurrected/revived, not reincarnated. That's why Ganon has such a huge fucking grudge in TP and WW.

The route to Gerudo Desert is closed off, none are around, their leader was known to be executed, and one of their holy temples has been turned into a prison (which is empty and full of ghosts, skeletons, etc.) by the time you get to it in TP
>>
>>341834037
It basically went like this:
>Zelda 1, 2 with Link defeating Ganon then defeating Ganon's minions trying to revive him
>ALTTP introduces the Imprisonment War
>OoT shows the Imprisonment War, but adding Link to the lore, then the timeline splits at the end: in the future Ganondorf has been defeated & sealed, in the present Ganondorf gets imprisoned before he can do his coup d'état
>However, instead of letting the adult timeline be the original games and the child timeline be Majora's Mask and whatever they'd do next, they decided to have Wind Waker be the adult timeline instead, putting the original games in an unespecified bubble
>Things get even messier when TP goes off the child timeline and PH & ST go off the adult timeline while the original games make less and less sense to put anywhere, especially since Ganon's origins in ALTTP don't actually coincide with OoT anymore

>>341834539
A male Gerudo is born every 100 years but no one said he would be a reincarnation of Ganondorf. Ganondorf himself has always been the same guy except once. In OoT he first appears, in the failure timeline he remains Ganon and keeps getting defeated, sealed then returning, up until Zelda 1 where he dies for good. In the child timeline he gets imprisoned, then returns in TP, where he dies but is reincarnated in FSA. In the adult timeline he gets sealed, comes back, Hyrule is flooded, etc. and he eventually dies and never returns.

Let's not forget that two Links and two Zeldas can coexist too. The Hero's Shade in TP is OoT Link, while Zelda 1 and 2 feature the same Link but different Zeldas (Zelda 2's being the ancestor of Zelda 1's).

>No Ganondorf, only Ganon, and he's become ridiculously powerful and more like a mindless evil entity much like in the first two Zelda games
>Game's logo is the same as the one for Zelda 1 in the Japanese release
>Master Sword is all rusty because no one has used it since ALTTP

>Regardless of his efforts, Link got killed in Zelda 2 and his blood was used to revive Ganon
>BOTW Link is a revived Link from Zelda 1/2, after the Sheikah retrieved his body, but the process took one century

What about the people praying for a savior and Link never coming, thus massive flood?
>>
>>341826471
If this is a drained hyrule from Wind Waker then what caused said draining?
>>
Let's make this clear: it happens in the failure timeline. This is Ganon, not Ganondorf.
>>
>>341836031
Hmm that's an interesting thought. WHY didn't a new link appear like usual before the flood?
>>
>>341836339
Because the Link of that time period fucked everything up by going back in time, stopping Ganon from taking over Hyrule, and basically making a new timeline without a chosen hero. This is why the Link from Wind Waker has no actual ties to the reincarnated hero of legend: he was just some random schmuck that the King of hyrule found who happened to look like the hero.
>>
>>341836316
Wait, there are three timelines?

The Downfall timeline.

It's the dumbest of the lot and the reason why so many people hate the Zelda timeline now.

Apparently its a "what if" branch-off of Ocarina of Time, where if the Hero of Time is defeated by Ganondorf, it results in the failure branch.

Just read up on it via google or some shit.

I was thinkin the old man was the king of hyrule from windwaker

. But if you think about it, the Ganondorf from windwaker was all tired and weirdly sentimental. Maybe the old man is both Ganondorf and *not* the badguy because hes been separated from the demise spirit after he was defeated.

And now, somehow, we're back in flooded hyrule where he was abandoned.

>>341837254
In one of the IGN streams, you can hear the Hyrule Castle theme when he approaches you to talk about calamity Ganon.

It's the King.
>>
>>341836957
Adult timeline: Link defeats & seals Ganondorf then goes back to his time. Ganondorf comes back, the spirit of the Hero does not exist in this timeline anymore, Hyrule is flooded.

Child timeline: Link comes back from the future, and reveals Ganondorf's intentions. Ganondorf gets imprisoned.

Failure timeline: Link dies while fighting Ganon. Ganon ends up being sealed by the sages anyway.

The failure timeline is necessary because although OoT was supposed to represent the Imprisonment War of ALTTP, it ends up being too different (Ganon goes back to being Ganondorf, there was a hero to fix things up in the first place, etc). Wind Waker also decided that Hyrule would be flooded after Ganondorf's sealing by the sages, effectively undoing ALTTP and Zelda 1&2, so to let these games remain canon a third timeline had to be made.

>Zelda: Ocarina of Time (prequel to ALTTP, shows the Imprisonment War)
>Zelda: Majora's Mask (direct sequel)
>Zelda: The Wind Waker (sequel to OoT but happens in the future or "adult" timeline)
>Zelda: Twilight Princess (sequel to OoT but happens in the present or "child" timeline)
>Zelda: Skyward Sword (prequel to the whole series)
>Zelda: Breath of the Wild (???)
>>
>>341838992
In the lower left corner of the Zelda 2 World Map is a region that purposefully was designed to evoke the Zelda 1 world map. It's to show that that entire game was just a fraction of the world of Hyrule, since Zelda 2 was all about being a "bigger and better" sort of sequel.

In lore, it also makes sense since Zelda broke up the Triforce of Wisdom into 8 pieces to hide it from Ganon. That area fits such a role: it's secluded enough from the majority of populated Hyrule so as to not endanger her people, but small enough that it would be believable she could accomplish her goal.

I really want to like Skyward Sword. I want to finish it. I always think about trying to get into it again, but the faults just keep me away.

I really like the IDEA of Skyward Sword. I like the upgradeable equipment, the different shields, collecting materials on your way to the dungeon, solving people's problems in those mini sidequests, and the concept behind the motion controls and even the art style. I like all of these things when I think about them.

It's just that the actual game surrounding these things is just so flawed I cannot bring myself to finish. It's so mindnumbingly boring and hand-holding. Fi is one of the worst partners in terms of her dialog. The tutorial and the forced and funneled story segments are so grating. The back tracking is unbearable. It's Zelda on rails. Which is a shame because it has some of the better design choices in the series (and removed some of the best design choices in the series).

>Kokiri could've evolved into Koroks in all three of the timelines, not just WW.
Except that the Kokiri evolved into Koroks as a direct result of the flood.

I say we continue not talking about the Master Sword! It's stupid anyway!

Also, I think this Calamity Ganon fellow just has a bad reputation is all. We should give him the Power of the Gods, show we misjudged him!

Fuck you faggots, have some canyons.

I don't think they cut something out.

I think it's intentionally left in there to indicate that this Link's memories have been wiped, or that he has amnesia of sorts.

Because we see a second cut like that later on in the trailer, with a guardian eyeing Link down.

I mentioned this in another thread, and it's REALLY head canon but, I theorize it's because of the Triforce splitting, rather than just time shenanigans.

Each line is caused by one of the Triforce wielders.

Downfall Timeline caused by Ganon killing Link

Child Timeline caused by Zelda sending Link back in time.

Adult Timeline caused by Link beating Ganon.

Makes some sense to me, but hey I'm just a simple dude.

The things he did as a kid weren't known to hyruleans, only to whoever followed him and he saving it from Ganon was part of the future timeline which was essentially made null once he exposed ganon as a kid, he besically went from hero to "that testimony kid".

My guess is that it has something to do with Calamity Ganon.

Fi couldn't contain the remnants of Demise's essence and it was released out of her, result in the Master Sword's decay and Calamity Ganon's power to a certain degree.

I haven't been this hyped since Twilight Princess, and that was when I was 12 years old. I feel like a little kid again.
