Great movie too aside from the ending. The deleted scenes are all really good I'm not sure why they removed them. The one with the doctor giving him the medicine is especially good.

I cannot find a movie that has a similar sense of dread and strangeness to it. SH3 is also the only game I've played that somewhat captured the mood. It's those weird transitions from a normal world to a surreal one that really gets me. It's like a horror styled Twin Peaks, but completely without the humor.

Yeah the ending sucks. Would have honestly been better if it just ended with deleted scene where the doctor gives him the cure and he lives his life on. The underlying fear or message would be that things like drugs and hallucinogens can alter someone's perception so much their world fundamentally changes.

Yeah. After playing SH3 I watched Jacob's Ladder and Session 9. While I really liked Jacob's Ladder, Session 9 was an awful film. They had an awesome set to work with, but the story was shit, the cast was terrible, and the "twist" was really really shitty.
Only good scene is the one where the guy afraid of the dark starts running when the lights go out. That scene is awesome.
