After Super Mario Maker a new format for 2D Mario platformers to follow is likely, and the 3D platformers have always changed in some way from generation to generation. I definitely believe him, though I wonder how drastic these changes are.
so, what if the new 3d mario is like dark souls, one huge interconnected world? instead of stages you just take these paths that interconnect with eachother or maybe open up into larger areas like sm64, with hidden shortcuts and collectables everywhere.
