I bought fallout 4 and I was definitely disappointed by how different it was from 1 abd 2. I didn't play 3 or new vegas when they came out, so I was expecting a fallout with a huge world, interesting characters and dialogue, ambiguous moral choices and heavy role playing. Fallout 4 had none of that and I feel like it was a waste of money. TWO FUCKING CITIES IN THE WHOLE GAME! GODDAMN! There was a guy that spent 10,000 dollars and over a year making a massive mod for skyrim that added an entirely new map nearly half the total size as the main game, uniquely voiced characters, shit tons of new quests, new skills, a massive shitload of new items, just a huge amount of content, released on the steam workshop for free, and he did it all as a resume to work for bethesda.
Needless to say they didn't hire him despite him making something with nearly half as much content in one year with $10,000 as their game which took them 6 years to make and hundreds of millions.

Boredom in Fallout 4 hit like a truck. Once I realized I had all the weapons I could want, a nice settlement, and most interesting missions out of the way, I couldn't think of a reason to keep playing.
