As a pre-searing fag, you don't know how painful it was to see what became of Ascalon in 2.
Yeah the Charr won, but what was the greatest kick in the balls was the Ascalonian separatists and resistance fighters in 2 are portrayed as the ones in the wrong.
And somehow Charr and humans are getting along.
GW2 has a myriad of things extremely wrong but the backstab to Prophecies fans still hurts the most.

GW2 is the biggest disappointment any GW1 fan could imagine.

For awhile I thought it was just meant to be presented as a case of 'history is written by the winners and the winners are hypocrites', but as time went on, it became clear Arenanet wanted the Charr and Sylvari to be the master races and kick humanity aside.

Its pretty much the israel plestine situation. Still feels like shit and I think they should have been more sympathetic to the rebels. At the end of the day though its either work with divinities reach or get fucked by dragons.

They just completely shat all over the lore anyways. None of it has any depth to it and it's just generic good guys vs evil bad guys who are evil for the sake of being evil. The biggest sin of GW2 though is that it killed GW1.

one of the more damning things which one can find in-game, is the plaque near Stormcaller where the Charr lambast humanity's use of magic as 'cowardly' when right outside the Black Citadel, THERE'S A HUGE SEARING CRYSTAL they called through magic and basically used to nuke Ascalon.
Ever more frustrating was, in eye of the north, the charr lands they HAD way in the north were lush and fucking beautiful as it was, the charr had been there by that point for centuries and most of their strongholds barely consisted of any permanent structures.

I logged into GW1 and just offered to help anyone with anything in every major outp[ost. No replies. The large outposts are barren except for kamadan. This game really is dead. I don't want to let go though. I wish I had something to come back to.

I remember when me and my friends would help out randoms at Thunderhead Keep, or any of the Southern Shiverpeak missions really. TK was especially a wall that kept people there for days. We got so many Wa/Mos through those areas.

The Vigil turned out right after all. No need for magical artifacts or secret mysteries or alliances. Just one warship.
It fucking hurts, I have over 8k hours in GW1 and probably sub 100 hours in GW2. They betrayed everything that made GW1 what it was, and what made it stand out among the sea of MMO's and then tried to just go with what they thought was the winning formula. Holy fuck how could they get it so wrong.
I might just go back on GW1 now desu, I wonder if I could find a group.
I still get on GW1 some times to do he Z missions and occasionally work on my VQ title.
Once in a while, I might get a group of 3 people to do a Z quest.
