I don't think Konami can do anything SH related now unless they want to give it to another western studio. But it's unlikely because Downpour and Book of Disappointment sale figures were shit. Their own company can't make games anymore. Their main job is milking Yugioh now and that's also stale.
Konami is a lot worse than CAPCOM.

For the time being, yes. Is it gone forever? Hard to say. On one hand it's not given that new "game" Konami is making, but there's nothing to say it can't make a return at some point in the future. The question, however is this; will Silent Hill ever see a title that restores its former glory like the recent Doom and Wolfenstein games? Or will it just crop up in about 10 or years under some shoddy companies name that managed to pilfer it from Konami and shit out something worse even worse than Homecoming and Downpour?

It's only crazy to assume their thoughts are nothing but Silent Hill related. Plenty of developers find themselves wondering about "reuniting the band" and doing something again. It's been mentioned in many interviews over the years how Insomniac and Naughty Dog have both found themselves curious about returning to their roots and making new games with their babies Spyro and Crash respectively.

Honestly it's baffling, it's just heartbreaking. Mobile and gambling is just making them so much profit they prefer to just focus on that and move all their resources into it.
(yes they are just moving talented artists and programmers into cleaning slot machines, don't know if that's better than just laying them off like in the west)
The sad fact is apparently it's not because of a takeover or anything they just always were like this. The fact that they made so many beloved games screams the passion and talent of the developers.
