I don't watch anime, but I play a lot of RPGs and story driven games. I feel I miss out on a lot because I stay away from the anime art style. But I'm sure there are tons of weeb games that are great as video games and I'm missing out. I saw the trailer for the Nier (sp?) game and it looks fucking rad.
Is there a chart or a wiki or something that'll point me in the right direction? I have a PC that runs pretty much anything available. I will buy a PS3 if it's worth it. My little brother has a PS4 so I can also buy games for when I visit my parents

Because if I can get past the indie-kiddy art styles to play some good games I can probably get past anime too. I just didn't give myself a chance. I was looking at the Neptunia games but they look like waifubait. Are they actually good as games?
By good I mean good controls, at lease moderately challenging, driven by gameplay or story, etc.

The whole point is me trying to not judge the art style but instead judge the game. So I already accepted there may be an anime game or two that is a great game but also literally porn.
Have you never played a final fantasy game or chrono trigger?
If not, then FF6 through 9 and chrono trigger are pretty much the best JRPGs ever made and easy to get into. After that you can play suikoden 2 and all the other famous jap games.
