Japanese games do not have hard bosses. Once you've beat even a few eastern "hard games" you pick up on strict unchanging trends and nuances in every game that it's not too long until you can shut your brain off while playing. Playing Dark Souls 3 when you've started all the way back from DeS as a lay man's example.
Not even baiting here. There's just something so safe and uninspired about the actual fight design in each one makes me wonder if thinking outside rigid formula is banned in Japan.
There are just so many western dev creating new and exciting ways to design bosses that challenge not only your raw skill but also preparation and insight.
It's quite saddening to see an entire culture avoid trying anything outside limited number of routine boss fights formats, when it's clear they're capable of more.

Ed O'Neill got the part of Al Bundy when, during his audition, he threw in a weary sigh upon coming into his house. As an example Serious Sam and Fear are two great shooters but both of them have bosses that are objectivily worst than even the worst zelda boss.
