I usually buy DLC if I've enjoyed a game enough and it actually adds more content. Ballad of Gay Tony and The Witcher 3 DLCs are fantastic examples, Horse Armor is not.

They don't. You play as a new character; your XV1 character is an NPC in the main story. If you don't transfer it uses Bamco's default RedGohan(Cape).
Some items are said to transfer, though we don't have anything more specific on that.

If I wrote a fanfiction about Bardock's wife who just so happens to be the only "good" Saiyan, who's kind of weak, meek and demure, and is one of the only Saiyans that has a relationship out of care/love, and Bardock goes on and on about how she's infected him with some sort of "kindness disease!" and how she raised Goku for a few years instead of having him sent off almost right after birth, and how her and Bardock sent him off to Earth telling him that they loved him so much (But never thought to go with him, of course! Someone might actually waste their time following him in the middle of nowhere space!)
Then we'd call it just what it is, stupid fanfiction bullshit. Gine is only only the way she is because she's Goku's mom, so she has to be 'special' in some way, and she doesn't bring anything new to the table, she's basically a self-insert character
Just to make room for this stupid bitch, you have to try and water down the entire Saiyan backstory. It still doesn't help that the Saiyans commit genocide, and that she's helping them by proxy, and this was before they got reigned in by Freeza.
The thing that made Bardock so special before is that, despite him being Goku's dad, he was no one special. Yeah, he was stronger than the rest of his gang, but that didn't amount to anything., Freeza wipes him out and his entire race without even trying.
And in a way, he got just what he deserved, because battle and genocide are something he enjoyed, just not when it was happening to him. The only reason he decided to rebel against Freeza was because he was cursed to see what is fate was in the first place.

I don't know, Gine was only around for so little time that she didn't come off nearly as bad as you make her out to be. As or Bardock, we are in complete agreement. SS Bardock should have been a "what if" thing like SS3/4 Broly or Nappa and Radditz' fusion. The whole sending him back in time to make him the legendary SS makes fan fiction look good.
