You could say the same for Disgaea. But they're not, they change mechanics and systems a bit. They're very similar, but not the same. I agree with them being mindless, they need to be a bit more complex (being able to control how the army moves would be so good). I'm hoping that the Berserk coat of paint will be enough to keep it entertaining. I got DQ Heroes back in December, and had some fun with it for a while, and then lost all motivation to continue. It got to where I would play it for like 10 minutes, get bored, turn it off, and jerk off to DQ porn.

I despise people who want a Platinum game or something DMC style. Guts shouldn't be floating in the air for 15 seconds or doing WICKED SICK xDD flashy combos. He should be fast and efficient against normal monsters, not an acrobatic show-off. In that respect a musou game makes sense, but it's going overboard in scale and the gameplay is just bad. Not to mention boss fights have been trash in the series. It might be trite at this point but Souls boss fights are closer to what I'd like in a Berserk game. I wouldn't mind being able to visit some locales either outside of combat. Do a few side quests and stuff.
Also, the story and characters should have a lot of focus. Which again, is something Musou games fail at terribly.

The world in Dark Souls feels like it's dead, there's no civilisation left, no settlements still populated, no large scale conflict. The players interactions with the world span across a phase long after shit has hit the fan.
Berserk feels like the world is dying, there's villages and cities being raided by hideous monstrosities, people still manage to go about their daily lives and most of all the world in Berserk feels like an actual place over a bunch of well connected corridoors.

Okay, lets break this down. Guts fought griffith 4 times if i remember correctly. Of those 4 times literally a single one of them lasted longer than a single attack and it was the first time they met.
Guts and zodd fought 2 or 3 times if i recall. 1 of these wouldnt even be in the game since it was at the end of the conviction arc which wont be in the game.
The only other apostle fights that may be in the game would be count, wyald, and snake baron. so thats what 5-6 fights? Compared to the fact that guts fights hordes of enemies on literally a nightly basis after getting the brand and fairly regularly during the golden age against humans.

Inspired design elements doesn't mean it's anything like Berserk. Souls combat is all patience and planning. Guts' style is "Swing away." I'd say Dragon's Dogma feels a lot closer to Berserk in combat feel. If you could equip six moves like the other classes and swung your sword faster, I'd even say that would be the go-to game for Berserk fans.

No, here's how it is faggots. Even in Golden Age Guts was cleaving apart five people at a time with one swing. During the Kushan ambush when The Band of the Hawk were outlaws hiding from the Midland army Guts was faster than an assassin who specialized in overwhelming speed. Guts has insane reflexes and destroys basically anything he touches with one hit. A musou game fits that best and if it was in a structured story going from Golden Age to current Fantasia arc (obviously with a lot of the details left out) the game would be fantastic. Bonus if there's multiple playable characters.

The way these games (and a lot of games) work is to rush the game out as fast as possible with not much content, then take the assets and add new content to it and sell it at full price again in 1-2 years.
