The dialogue, music and art design is mostly great but it suffers from bad quest design, lazy padding, pretty poor pacing in the story and sub-par gameplay

I think the game suffers from a couple things to a great extent, for example story pacing, quest design and combat.

You could search the room yourself to find the bottle.
When trying to track down monsters or people, they leave actual physical foot prints in the dirt that you can find and follow without witcher senses.
You do not HAVE to use them if you find them too casual. You can do it all with your own two eyes if you prefer, the option is there.
I like it but the combat is pretty janky and either I suck or signs feel weak as fuck. I quit my playthrough a little way through because I'm going to play a sword and minor signs Geralt instead of full on signs but I have to take time to recover.
