I have bought every single Dark Souls game but have not got pass the first area/few areas in any of them. In Dark Souls I didn't know where to go and kept on getting killed by skeletons so I quit, in Dark Souls 2 I figured out where to go but didn't get an estus flask early on so I kept on getting my ass kicked so I gave up, in Dark Souls 3 I couldn't get past the tutorial boss. Games like DMC can have complex combat because the environment doesn't really play a role, even if the visuals change you are more often than not fighting in a decent sized flat arena which opens up room for lots of combos.
In Souls however the enviromnet plays a much larger role, you are often fighting in cramped environments, there are traps, sheer drops etc, this means that simple combat is all that is really possible, you hit hard and so do the enemies, there is no need for long combo's and they would most likely hinder gameplay, im not saying there isn't need to have a little more variety in combat in Souls but you can't compare them to games like DMC and Bayonetta, they are vastly different.

Why the fuck do plebs say this? No, the gameplay was not good. The gameplay consisted of doing the same 3 objectives over and over again with some thin plot dressing in a completely empty open world. The controls are generic TPS controls with a bit more weight behind it. I know it would have been hard to implement the old control scheme into an open world but I would prefer it so much more the the generic system we have now.
it also took out all of the skill of MGO. You actually had to get good at MGO2 to even do moderately well. You needed to have almost inhuman reflexes and a mastery over the controls. MGO3 is a shitfest where host wipes the floor with everyone and its more about who lock onto their head with the insane aim assist first and fires. Oh, also the maps suck in MGO3. They're all way too large.

It was very responsive, didn't use reflex mode or aim assist and I was still able to consistently deal with unexpected things happening, only issue I had was standing up sometimes when I didn't want to and a small 3rd person fov which made seeing enemies around corners difficult (this was needed without x ray). You spend the majority of the game observing and infiltrating bases to kill, capture or steal something, that is a perfect core to build an open world stealth game on and it provided me with enjoyment from start to finish, I wasn't looking for some weird mission to mix things up because in my mind I was just playing as a special forces guy in a vast barren country sneaking around.
I think most people used x ray, reflex, 3d markers etc and got bored with the missions, which is understandable but if you played the game from start to finish without them you probably would have had a far more immersive, tense and rewarding experience.

Is this a joke post? How is riding on a helicopter meant to be challenging or interesting in any way? You literally sit there and wait. In MGSV the environments were open so you could basically incapacitate any guard as soon as you saw them, other stealth games put you in tight spaces where you won't have line of sight on the guards, or limit your arsenal so you can't just deal with obstacles by shooting them - you actually have to sneak around instead.

Heli gets you near the objective, christ. It's open world to allow for multiple areas of infiltration but then you bitch because sometimes you have to travel from one area to the next (even with a heli to help you), well you cant have an open world and not sometimes have to travel.
Then you observe, mark, remember patterns, move in. Some guards have helmets or armour etc. Unless you had x ray on then I understand why you didn't find it challenging.

I do often complain about censorship in threads for games I'm not even interested in. I just really hate censorship on principle. I think it is in no way fair for another person to dictate what is appropriate for me and alter the product to censor it before I can buy it.

If there was an invincible armour with unlimited stealth called "im a lil bitch armour" I bet you would use it then complain that the games too easy.
I have 4.9k hours of Dota 2, which I honestly don't even regret because it journey to getting 5000 MMR points was fun (stayed at 5.2k)
I have resigned from playing Dota 2 to not become a completely mono player
I have spent 200 hours on Elite Dangerous unironically and enjoy it massively
Whenever I can in games, I turn off the music and put my own on, hence why i fucking love Dota and Elite Dangerous
I have actually deleted games from my steam account that I am ashamed of, like Bad Rats and Secret of the Magic Crystal.
The only game that has come close to hour count on Dota 2 for me was probably Oblivion on Xbox 360 back in 2006.

Thanks but I hate reading desu and stories aren't really the issue. The real issue is the lack of "real content". Most devs think their ideas will stay fresh during 30h of gameplay but it usually get stale in less than 10. Games should either be short or use/offer new ideas/things until the very last moment.

The ability to call in a tank does not mean the core game design doesn't accomodate being stealthy, again not a "pure" stealth game but it's easily played that way, the most clear way the game actually tells dipshits your not being very stealthy is a rank but you play the game the way you want imo ranks are for people trying to perfect a playthrough. Yes you can shoot your way out because the game is about getting the job done as stealthily as possible but if you get caught you have to deal with the situation like a real operative would.

I noticed how unbelivably OP the mode was since GZ (as well as slow mo) and this is only my second MGS game, every game I play I at least look into how to alter settings as to not have to play the whole game with a fucked up feature, call that self imposed limitations but im still not going to sit through a shit experience because it's just how the game started out.

And it offers no incentive to do that, it's doing the opposite by making the play style more difficult and giving you tons of overpowered weapons and tools to play around with. Quiet breaks the game for example, I'm not even sure if it's possible to get caught with her covering you.
