2. They want to focus primarily on making mobile games from now on
3. They just announced yet another Sonic Boom game- a direction for Sonic that's been universally panned and hated by just about everyone not over the age of 10.

Its simple. Activision buys the IP's then sits on them forever until the stars in the sky go out.
At best Sonic might end up like Spyro and appear in Skylanders, another almost dead IP.
Maybe after Sega gets bought out, a former employee may make a Kickstarter for a spiritual successor. After a few months of nothing, you'll realize this is just a con for the developer to make money and that this game will never see the light of day.

All they had to do was make another Generations-style game. It had the perfect 3D gameplay and pretty fun 2D as well. All they had to do was slap on a decent story and add a new character for the 2D gameplay and bang, money. But no, they had to shit out Lost World and whatever the fuck Sonic Boom was.

2, 3, 3D blast, Adventure 1, Heroes, Unleashed, Colors. For handhelds, pretty much any gameboy and DS sonic platformer is good. Sonic advance and rush series are great. Dont listen to the memers who say classic sonic is the best. They are grossly misleading games. 1 and CD are outright terrible games and sonic and knuckles just keeps dumping shit level after shit level on you. If youre in it for the speed, the classic games are not gonna be your thing.

I dont think 3D blast is all that good, would give it a 7/10 at most but theres something insanely memorable and nostalgic about it. It really captures the 90s well and even if the game part is meh i cant bash it for being able to literally take me back 20 years and feel right at home. Its also good if you like exploring for shit or that kind of camera angle in games. Heroes is fantastic and one of the best sonic games easily. Have never had a single issue with it

Of course. the zones it had also shifted moods very easily because of the great shiny textures and use of color. Diamond dust feels like a cold happy christmas day, spring stadium feels like an exciting fun house, panic puppet feels like an evil lair full of dread made from eggman. One of the best atmospheres in sonic, up there with CD and Unleashed.

Playing a high speed exploring action game only to collect flashing dildos and animals to shove up another animals ass and watch it compete in races by itself. Yes it was a bit confusing, but then again they skipped e3 last year and were just getting back into it this year. They had good stuff anyway. Dawn of war, sonic boom fire and ice (shut up it looks solid), project diva X, Yakuza 0. One of the better guests at e3 IMO.
I dont even know if its disappointing because they never said they were announcing any new sonic games at e3 and said fire and ice would be the focus. Ever since the sxsw panel in march theyve been saying wait for july 22 and you will get what youre looking for. It went from cryptic to suggestive to outright. Pretty good methods for keeping people hooked and interest high. Every single day of 2016 Ive googled info or leaks for the next sonic game because its so hard to wait. Hang in there bro

They havent done an outright sequel since sonic adventure 2. While its certainly possible with all the classic sonic stuff theyre posting, i wouldnt count on it. at all. I have no idea what to expect but if i had to guess. I would say at least using unleashed/boost as the base again. But with the parkor and other mechanics from lost world thrown in and wider levels because of the new consoles/better hardware. Realistically though this is just a complete stab in the dark, since sonics thing has always been about evolution and new ideas.
I want Sonic to continue existing so people will keep putting out Amy and Rouge porn.
