I'm only going to buy Overwatch if it still has players at year's end.
Blizzdrones make up a lot of the playerbase and they're fucking awful, and even TF2 kind of died after the first year of release. Only hats and trading kept it "alive" and it was a dirty kind of alive that wasn't very good.
The game was actually fun before the Koreans showed up. They take this shit way too seriously.

Eh to be honest, I went from sc2 to LoL and I didn't ever think it was going to be a fad, when you update content all of the time + have a skinner box working and with such team based gameplay the game is bound to last.
The thing with overwatch is that it's going to be the same a month from now, there is barely any motivation to get friends in and it's way harder to keep the game fresh.
I'm starting to get bored of it already.
I have something like 4k hours in LoL and 3885 hours in DotA, I don't think I'll reach 100 hours in overwatch.and I expect the playerbase to start dropping soon.

A big part of it is the social aspect, on top of it a lot of games actually give players bonuses for playing in these. If you play any lower budget Korean MMO you can sometimes see where the localisation team was lazy and forgot to take shit out, I remember in Vindictus there was a little tip on quest boards saying that daily raids would have an increased limit for "pc cafe" players.
Add in the fact that they're dirt cheap to the point people sometimes live in these things and you can see why someone would rather go to one than spend 900-1000 on a high end PC.
I still remember when Riot tried to argue against adding a sandbox/practice mode like what HoTS has.
I don't think they actually discuss things before posting responses.

You can also level up at will, reset your cooldowns, and spawn AI. It's designed to test out new heroes, or practice specific abilities.
League players wanted this so they could practice things like flashing over certain walls, or practicing hitboxes of certain abilities, animation cancels, etc.
