I played a fair amount of 4 when it was on a sale for 10. Right now my PC in the shitters for some reason so I don't know what the state its in at the current moment but I did secure the free expansions they dished out since the dice's 1st look of BF1.
I like BF4 btw.

This, I got it for 30 close to release date, even then it seemed to flatlined faster than my will to live. BF4 is great though, they've been updating a lot even after the last dlc packs.

contains loads of good maps, weps, assignments for you to burn time on, a few nice perks
depending on what region you're in the premium maps might be dead as shit or they might be the bulk of the playerbase.
oceania has pretty good population on premium maps but very few servers
play BF4 for a bit and if you like the general gameplay then fork over some more cash to fucktuple the amount of gameplay
