I really really like stuff about the old west and had it gifted to me.
One part in the game that got me hooked was in the third mission where Silas is retelling how he was hunting down a gang and he got ambushed and was running out of ammo. A rock moved out of the way and you had to run away from a bunch of enemies because you had no ammo. And at the end of the path an Apache corpse fell from the sky that had a rifle on him and you get all your ammo refilled and turn the tables on the enemies.
While I was running at all the enemies with my dual six shooters out gunning them down, Silas begins to say stuff like "It was time to turn the tables. Time for the prey to become the predator. Time for the hunted to become the hunter." He goes on like that for a while until the people listening to the story tell him to shut up.
After that I went and played through the whole game in one sitting. The way the main character tells his story is really good. At one point one of the people he's telling the story to falls asleep and he just yells "AND THEN A HUGE GROUP OF APACHES INDIANS ATTACKS ME!" In-game a bunch of Apache Indians come out and start shooting you and when the guy wakes up and says "Did that really happen?" Silas says; "Of course not! I just wanted to make sure you were listenin'."
There'd be parts where Silas talks about what the legends say he did and you play that part and it's all badass and then he'll be like "But now let me tell you how it REALLY happened." and you play through the section in a completely different way. One mission in particular gets told three different ways by two characters and then told by Silas' perspective to show the truth.

They finished off the story nicely too honestly. I don't remember well but I recall reading something like the cliffhanger ending was because they were going to make a full sequel, but that plan got shutdown and instead they were forced to finish the story off with the DLC instead.
It just had a charm to it, until you actually sit down with it you can't really understand it. The batshit insane factor was constantly upped too, charging at Yasha with literally no arms is always a laugh and that's nothing compared to the shit later on.

Aw man I got this and maybe played it three times. I remember grinding on part where you ride through the sewers or something and a bunch of enemies that were really easy to kill spawned. Got myself overleveled and never really went back to the game

Legend of Legaia 2. It has the most amount of optional content I've seen in a JRPG. It's obviously low budget. The menus are literally just photoshop gradient fills. Still, awesome game. The crafting is the best part.
Dark Sector is one of my favorite games.
