Xbox used to have better stick resistance feel and triggers but DS4 fixed that
Xbox One controller stick height worse than 360's but Elite controller has short stick options which fixes that if you can stomach dropping the dosh.
I wish someone made a decent controller with a reversible left side layout. I know there was one made by a third party but I heard it was unreliable and overall shitty.

It's because Microsoft decided the controler had to be a little different than the 360's (which was close to perfect) so it feels weird and not as ergonomic as the 360's. Basically anyone playing an x1 wishes they were using a 360 controler.

I got this a week or so ago and I'm kind of in love with it. If the bumpers weren't so tight it'd be nearly perfect for me. The d-pad is the worst in the world and it's pretty much unusable for 2d/3d platforming stuff and games like Melee. Other than that, I've been playing a lot of DkS3 and Witcher 3 with a little Dragon's Dogma, FO4, and the new Hitman here and there and I pretty much enjoy using it as much as, if not more than, the standard 360 controller after figuring out my settings. The buttons on the back are a godsend, being able to sprint and move the camera at the same time without playing claw is pretty nice in something like Dark Souls. Using it in place of mouse+keyboard is also smooth as fuck and easy to get used to, I started streaming my PC to the TV I have in my living room and after mapping all the necessary keyboard keys to my desktop configuration I can safely say that I can use this over mouse+kb in just about any general usage scenario.
My 360 controller is falling appart after barely one year of use, the right analog is starting get loose and disfunction.
What would be better as a replacement?

The controller aspect of the-well- controller is shit.
The face buttons have a slightly mushy feel, and trackpad as s-pad just doesn't ever fucking work
The trackpad is okay for anything that isn't a game. I like when i can lay on the couch and browse for something to watch, but I just cannot get used to using it in-game
I've tried playing FTL, Darkest Dungeon, and SimCity 4, and it just didn't cut it for me. I figured those we're games that I could get around with a trackpad okay, but, man, I just hated it
My biggest problem is the SteamLink. That thing is suck fucking trash. I have it on a wired connection of 100 down and 10 up, and still the amount of artifacting is insane

I've spent a literal 6-hour gaming session in GRAV and that game nothing but grinding, but I still had fun with the controller.
I've used it with Sleeping Dogs, Bloodrayne, Hatred, Payday 2, L4D2, Quantum Conundrum, and Rocket League, all of which were enjoyable experiences.
I know that's just my personal experience, but what games did you play it with so far?

Even if you absolutely need to have wired to play across your living room on a 50-inch plasma display with 200ms input delay, batteries are superior because you never have to be tethered to a wire, even if your battery dies.

I tend to move around a lot and switch from laying, to sitting, to resting on my side and a cable would string across my doorway.
It's just really convenient to have wireless and when controllers aren't really the best thing for accuracy in the first place, I don't mind any few miliseconds of latency, and I've never perceived there to be a disadvantage when using wireless.
