A new massive patch came out not too long ago and the game had lots of improvements since the last time i've played. For a game that has been slipping under the radar, Fractured Space is pretty fucking fun.
Between this and Dreadnought this one is already playable

Yeah it's the most fun I've had in a space based game, and there's 0 pay to win mechanic.
The ship models are so epic too.

No idea, it's very playable. My guess is that people don't like having to exp & credit grind. It's pretty bullshit that ships like the guardian are locked behind a 1.2mil exp + 2mil credit grindwall.

It's free to play, just grab it and check it out.
The three starting ships are actually really good. They should give you a good indicator if you'll enjoy the game, any ships you unlock after them are just more specialised.

I wish it had more feedback on the armor values at the moment. I know you can visually see your SIDE BURNING UP "ESTO ES MALO" but a HUD thing would be nice

Ye it is good. It's a MOBA like take on capital spaceships and it runs and plays very smooth. Also has a nice tug of war feel to it with tircky pushes and plays you can pull off.
Balance seems fairly good, haven't found something that makes me go BULLSHIT on it. When i played it back then was too alpha so i forgot about it until this patch.
It IS good and free so check it out.

The grind is getting me right now, not because it's too much but since there's no weekly rotation I cannot try them for real without spending credits.
The shooting range is serviceable i guess. I want to try on battle an Overseer and Death Star people from afar.

I dunno how long its been since you've played, but they've recently a added a "firing range" so you can try any ship out before you buy it.

I played it at PAX South and finally got a beta key a few weeks ago. I think it's cool.
I played Fractures Space once a while back when it was free for a day or something at some point when the game still cost money. I didn't enjoy it then and never really gave it a second chance.

Dreadnought got me down when I saw the first gameplay show some months ago, but supposedly they're working on adding more depth to the gameplay and the beta will open soon.

I find the closed beta enjoyable. Only issue I really have is how grindy it is to get money and unlock new equipment for purchase.
And sometimes I don't get the credits I earned in battle and they're instead added in after the next battle

It's ok. It's really dragged down by the shitty map tho. It's really something that should be like Heroes of the Storm where there is 10 different maps and like 4 different types of objectives.
I think EVE is still THE spaceship multiplayer game. The sandbox factor is so good that it overshadows all its mechanical flaws.

I've played it since early alpha/beta, and it was ok for a time, but they haven't added any interesting mechanic that would make the game stand out from anything else, or given it some much needed complexity, they've just made it the biggest grind fest i've ever seen.

The 3 starting ships are great.
I guess there is a bit of a problem where you have to grind up 120k exp and 2mil credits to get OP ships like the guardian though.
I've played for 50hrs and have unlocked 5 extra ships could unlock about 3 more right now if I wasn't saving exp and credits. So I'm not really seeing the grind element I've been having a heap of fun just playing the game. If you're too impatient you can just pay for the extra ships.

The gianturkey was at the head of it naturally, spreading his propganda to the furthest reaches of new eden, but the capsuleers would not have it. Alliances fought against eachother, and it was among the most bloodiest and costliest wars of all time.
The Gianturd and his ragtag of degenerate cosmic insectoids have been reduced to mere warbands, splintered across the galaxy, supposedly timing their return to wreak havoc upon the galaxy.
That time will never come however. The goons of today aren't the goons of 10 years ago.

Yeah, that's the one that kind of got me into the idea when I was a kid. It was cool. I remember one side using ships that beamed marines onto the enemy ship, and the other side just poured marines onto the opponent ship and they had to cut their way through the hull.
too grindy and the battles are literally who has the numbers, it's basically impossible to win 1v2 or 2v3 because of all the lockdown abilities

I can't find the copy pasta or the interview, but there was an interview where acti said you start missions from that big ship by telling it where to go, then saying it has seamless planet transitions and ship boarding, etc and you'd be able to customize your fighter.
Problem is they really skimmed on how the combat actually works.
