Morrowind and Skyrim are fucking terrible games. I've never played RPG with so bad quests. At least oblivion had mostly decent quests with some hidden gems here and there + shivering isles.
But i'm glad Witcher 3 happened and we finally got a singleplayer game with GOOD quests.

I've played all of them and yeah oblivion just hits me in all the right spots. It's just so damn comfy and the quests were really satisfying.

I've never understood battle system complains.
Once you have even remotely decent weapon skill more often than not you land hits, if it seriously bothers you so much you can just install a 100% hit chance mod. The combat is just you standing there clicking at an enemy but that's how it is in Oblivion and Skyrim too for melee.

I tried MW with the overhaul mod. loved the game but couldnt handle the fps drops so I quit, might try again sometime with less intensive mods

i feel the same way desu. I also like it in morrowind how block skill was passive and played the animation when you blocked. I wish the game had animations for misses and glancing blows as well for the diceroll combat. then it would be better than oblivion/skyrim combat and the "but i looked like i hit him!" faggots would have to complain about some other stupid thing.
Oblivion would be my favorite, but there's so much immersion-killing shit dragging down it down that it's impossible to play without modding it heavily.

I tried Morrowind too and I found it too boring, and the quests annoying. An NPC telling you to go somewhere, without telling you specifically - just 'oh yeah like 50 paces past that one tree and then walk for like half a day until that one rock' - is a fucking terrible game mechanic. Daggerfall actually did it a shit ton better. Tell you to go to a particular city, and once there you start asking around for details.
