It's like history repeats itself perfectly. The game is really fun, but ratings and reviews are average. Another cult hit because it's not for everyone, and those that like it probably enjoy it just as much as they did the first one.
The game's not perfect but it's a good continuation of the first and I'm more than happy with it, given that it's surprising it got another game at all. I hope the developers aren't turned down from trying once more in the future if enough people realize this is a fun game.

It's solid gameplay wise, just nothing revolutionary like the first game with the minor adittions of new gadgets and abilities. For me it took a while for me to settle in but after an hour or 2 I was hooked , running on walls, flipping around like prince of Persia in fps, great stuff.
The games is strictly about running so there's not much to do except run and run and run, no guns,some weird combat but if you get the hang of it it flows quite nicely and mission varieties are almost all delivery girl, then again that's their whole job.
Feels great when you get in the zone, its like you're dancing with the city.
...and it has dice quality story telling, If you know what I mean.

The problem with the new Mirror's Edge is that it tries to do all the sweet things (in theory) but ends up with a extremely mediocre palette of stuff. The first game knew what it wanted to do and focused on the few key things which made it shine really well (parkour/environment settings), everything else was mostly mediocre. Now if you make a new game where you tone down the original setting and gameplay to "boost" the open world and story (which ended up getting strangled DUE to gameplay), you get this game.
