I'd rather not spoil too much, but they have a similar thing going on with the Doug/Carley from the Walking Dead game. There's a few core choices that affect your party for multiple episodes. I thought it had pretty good character development as well.

Liked the setting, liked the 'filler' take-down-the-militia missions that everyone hated, thought the batmobile was alright but unessisary, never played the bugged version and didn't buy at release.
Bought it for (I think) 15 quid at CEX. Worth that much, was a solid game.

I just looked up Story Mode assuming it was Minecraft gameplay with more direction a-la Terraria. I never expected a point and click adventure, what the fuck were they thinking? Who's it for? Why make a story driven game based on a IP that's basically a big, characterless Lego-box?

Telltale makes games to hop on bandwagons so they can profit off of the IP's pre-existing fanbase. Minecraft's was the most obvious of the bunch.
