A good hack and slash requires WELL DESIGNED ENEMIES rather than focusing too much on simply the player character
and even with the focus put solely on the PC, games like ninja gaiden curbstomp DMC in terms of depth
why do mememasters praise this game so much? Fucking bloodborne is a better hack and slash game with actually threatening enemies and meaningfully different attack patterns on the weapons rather than just juggle X enemy in the air infinitely

I think DMC3 and 4 are really good for your brain. The style meter requires you to avoid doing the same move in succession while you are avoiding incoming attacks. Enemies are there as ragdolls if you know how to play optimally. As you are complaining on their movesets I can tell you probably never even touched Dante Must Die mode, and you're not an authority on this subject. Your opinion thus belongs in a garbage can.

People like the style aspect of dmc. Ninja Gaiden only his hit #'s. Two great series that scratch different itches for fans of the genre. Personally I like NG more but I wouldn't say it does what dmc games do just better. Just different games senpai. Also even with my bias I still think combat looks cooler in dmc.
On max difficulty the biggest difference is ninja gaiden AI crosses over into extreme bullshit territory whereas dmc AI remains very tough but fair.
