From a purely "I'm one of the only people who gives a shit about the overarching story of the series" perspective, I'd like this to be the game that unifies timelines.

I noticed the Temple of Time is decimated, and this is as technological as a Zelda game's ever been, so a small mention/nod to the time stream and repairing all of that would be nice.

I like that idea. I immediately thought Link could fall down a massive pit or a chasm or something, and have to fight whatever's at the bottom, then try and climb his way back up. It'd probably be one of the earlier dungeons because you'd mostly be doing it through clever management of your stamina gauge. Be a good way to teach people about that.

Story-wise, I hope it's like Metroid Prime. So it's pretty much entirely optional but there's a lot of background lore. Aonuma already confirmed that the story is optional, I just hope the actual lore that is in the game is good.

There aren't any helper characters, which is a good thing. Fi was the worst part of Skyward Sword and I'm glad that they fix that issue. I hope that the towns and NPCs are interesting rather than being generic like Skyrim and most other games like that.

I'm fine with the world at the moment, it seems like there is lots to do in the Great Plateau. Some of the other areas they showed off in the video look a bit barren but hopefully that's just because it's still in development.

I hope we have sidequests like the ones in Majora's Mask, although that will be difficult to integrate with this world. The reason it worked so well in Majora's Mask was because there was a rigid time system of only three days. This meant that every NPC could have a strict schedule of things to be doing at any given time. I imagine that this game won't have the same 3 day mechanic, but it does have an in-game clock so maybe they can design sidequests around that. I just hope that it doesn't become like most RPG sidequests, where everything is a basic fetch or kill quest.

I hope that the dungeons are good and make use of various items, although I'm not too worried about this aspect. If there's one aspect that they've nailed in the recent 3D Zeldas, it's dungeons and boss battles. I'd like to see more unique dungeons like the Ancient Cistern, Snowpeak Ruins or Stone Tower.

The hardest part about a flying enemy is actually getting to them. With climbing, gliding and a hookshot (I can't imagine they'll skip on something like that with all the physics stuff) there can finally be fights with proper verticality

I think they're probably gonna take a good crack at explaining how the Downfall Timeline occurred. This particular Link is probably going to be revealed as the Fallen Hero of Time newly resurrected, as he never actually fulfilled his original purpose

Other than that, a couple of other things I'd like to see at least get a passing mention:

>The Minish and the Light Force (even if it's just optional lore you can find in a series of mini-dungeons)

And now that I think about it, I guess some people will maybe not like this side to it, but other crafting elements too. Stuff that integrates into the temperature survival side of things too.

I guess were getting a bit beyond the usual Zelda game side of things here but I can't help but roll on and on from simple ideas into this sort of stuff.

I wanna see more development for Link as a hero. What are his real powers with the triforce of courage? Why does he keep coming back to fight? Is there a way to stop this cycle of strife between the different triforce users? Are past Links willing to help current Link like how the Hero's Shade did with TP Link? Is he always alone as a hero or only helped by random strangers on the way? Can other incarnations do what Hero's Shade did?

TP brought up interesting shot to the table for Link. I wanna see more of that. I wanna feel like I'm using a hero that will eternally keep fighting against evil. A hero that always sums the strengths of past heroes and help each other across eras. A hero that is not alone, that he himself is his own companion, master and friend in battle.

I want it to be Majoras Mask inspired with even more transformation mask (I'm thinking 5 instead of 3).
In that vein I am sorta sitting on what I consider the best song mechanic (and maybe even mechanic period) that has been in) any game thus far. It's so good it wouldn't be a stretch to.say it is better than everything Nintendo has at this point.

I want there to be many dungeons and I want to be able to sequence break/go in alternate dungeon orders with (or without) proper items. I want mutliple solutions to all puzzles and encounters. Ideally, each path taken will change what other paths one can take as well ala acquiring certain gear (via sequence breaking) in Metroid determining your options. If so, then it'll be the correct sequel to LoZ NES.

- Variety of appearances, even if we just get pallet-swapped tunics again.
- Equipment with options for variance. Ex. You can equip an accessory that halves magic consumption, but increases damage taken, or maybe a trinket that extends the range of the spin-slash, something akin to the rings from the oracle games.

Better attack animations with more clear swings and a bit more windup time.

Better enemy designs with higher aggression and faster attacks that take less hitstun.

Right now you can just run up to enemies and hit them first and pummel them until they're dead.

If they want to take a cue from classic Zelda, then having enemies which are actually difficult to avoid damage from would be a good way.

I love what we got so far as long as it doesn't end up like MGSV and gives me all this empty space to do incredibly repetitive task but I want story and characters too, as well as awesome dungeons.

I have an idea you all might like:
MMfag here so I would essentially have the mask collecting thing make a return. A simplistic idea but I would have an increase in the total mask number from what it was in MM.

The cool part however; is that I would also introduce the "Face Sword". This guy would also double as the classic companion character. A sword that has a blank face on its guard that the various masks in the game could be equipped to, giving it various powers and puzzle solving utilities. The game would be gloriously difficult in places where you had to nimbly switch between masks both on Link and the sword in a very short span of time to use the very subtle effects each variety imparts in a given situation.
>One mask to raise a cube of earth from the ground, then a fire mask to strike only the left side of that cube (aim carefully), a time-slow mask on Link so you can run to the other side before the fire runs out, and put the bunny hood on the sword whose now-fast thrusts are the only thing that can hit every puzzle slot in time.
Have enemies in certain challenge modes/areas require things like this as well.

The best part; not only would you have unique masks different from MM (bring back the old must-haves of course) you''d also get to actually place the masks your SWORD at the same time, granting you elemental transformations, puzzle-solving utilities, and other abstract stuff. Maybe replace the Ocarina by having a legendary "Bard Mask" that you must aquire that you then place on your sword to gain the song making mechanic. Put it on Link to -learn- the various songs throughout the game. Put it on the sword to -play- the songs. You can even use 2 masks at once by equiping one on Link, one on the sword. Best part is that the Transformation masks (of which I'm thinking 5 instead of 3) will change the instrument depending on the race. Heck even have the minor masks add these purely aesthetic aesthetic -slight- musical/visual alterations (or even with a tiny puzzle solving potential) to the base instrument. I also have an idea for another mask category other than transformation. 'Summon Masks'. The only one of which I have thought up is Midna's Fused Shadow. Putting it on summons Imp Midna. Put it on the sword; True Midna. Midna + Bard-Sword would even give her a Twili instrument to play instead of you.

For Zelda to be fierce and play a prominent role in the story. Maybe even be a sort of rival to Link.

Oh seriously? I didn't see that but that is obviously a cool idea. And yeah talking of rods and thinking along the lines i was thinking earlier, made via crafting. just tying string to the spear, adding a hook maybe and bait etc etc.

And yeah tying it into the cooking for extra food effects is exactly the kind of things I was thinking.

Dungeons that make the stuff you can find and craft important.

For example, a deep dungeon that is so cold, that even with proper clothing you freeze. Basically you want to stock up on cold resistance, clothing against cold, firewood, flints and torches. Then you go in, hoping you have enough resources to get through.

Or a chest you can only get to with stamina enhancing potions, or where you have to be fast enough etc.

This is very possible to happen, but it might aswell not. I hope they don´t forget to explore these possibilities. If you lack the resources, it gives a good incentive to go out, find them and return later.

Also, secrets that don´t present them in a way of "HEY I´M A SECRET" For example, some sort of shrine in a low-level area that doesn´t look like it does fuck all, so you just pass it 100 times, but at some point you get the hint that dropping special sword X on the shrine will do something. So you drop special sword X on it and it opens a door to a high-level dungeon.
