That demo was embarrassing.
He just fires blindly into a sea of zombies and it somehow holds them at bay for some reason, but he does this when he's already outpacing them anyway and holding them back with pithy rifle fire is only slowing him down and leaving him vulnerable.
Also he was invincible for the demo so nothing would go wrong, at one point he clearly gets hit a couple times by zombies trying to sprint past them and takes no damage.

I love zombie games, and there's never been a zombie game with War Z style zombies in a long time. L4D comes to mind, but I didn't think it was very good.
You can either have a few zombies that are hard to kill, or a lot that are easy to kill, and I welcome some more of the latter.
