The main comparison for me will be the empty open world with repetitive side content.
MGS V needed to be trimmed down in scope. Should've been just Afghanistan, with more big bases and a maybe a city with civilians and vendors. Less side ops, while making side ops more interesting in general.
MGS V will be the best open world stealth game for the foreseeable future. The AI, difficulty/assist options, weapon and gadget freedom, movement, it was the best game possible mechanically in a really unflattering package.

They still behave the same as they did in the original game, Thundga is still an AoE, Blizzard is still a projectile that occasionally freezes the target and Firaga still has tracking. The only difference I've noticed is that Blizzaga creates a flow motion rail along the ground which obviously wouldn't exist in the original since flow motion hadn't been introduced yet. Likewise the air dash is obtained at a similar point in the game. I'm playing through it currently and at 4 hours in I have greater abilities than those that were displayed in the footage.

Noctis, Gladiolus, Ignis, Aranea and Iedolas look identical to how they looked in the 2011 Versus trailer, and Prompto and Regis still have the same outfits they had in the 2011 Versus trailer. Gentiana, Verstael, Ardyn and Cidney were confirmed to be designed in 2010 but we only first saw them once it was XV in 2013 and Cidney in 2014, and their designs haven't changed at all since their first appearance.
The only change from 2013 designs to now is Regis, Prompto and Luna.
And for fucks sakes you dumb cunt 10 years ago Noctis was the only character that existed. Regis, Prompto and Ravus were revealed in 2007, Stella, Ignis and Gladio in 2008. All of them were redesigned by Nomura in 2010 and we saw their redesigns with their Roen outfits in 2011. That was when we also saw Iedolas and Aranea for the first time.
In 2013 Stella was changed to Luna and got a new design, and we saw Ravus's new design, and every other character we saw from the Versus trailers had the same design they had since the 2011 trailer, and it was the first time we saw Ardyn, Verstael and Gentiana.
In 2014 Cidney was revealed and that is when Luna and Prompto had minor design changes from their 2013 design, for Prompto only his hair style was changed and face minor tweaked, he's still in the same outfit since the 2011 Versus trailer. For Luna minor face tweaks and her hair is now worn tied up. Regis's face/hair was changed to match his motion capture actor in 2015 but he still has the same outfit he has had since the 2011 Versus trailer. Everyone else has had the same outfits and designs since their 2013 version.
