As for items, of course I wanna see hookshot, boomerang (with multi-target lock of course), fire rod, and that beetle thing.

Not a item per say, but I hope learnable spells return. The game already has a food crafting system, why not a spell system? Zelda 2 executed spells in a simplistic, non complicated, yet powerful way that fit well within a Zelda game. They could easily follow that example.
