They only release one zelda game every 4-5 years though.
Games like Uncharted or Halo would be a better example where they get 4-7 games in 1 or 2 gens.

I think it's less that Link's being awakened, and more that he got fucking MURDERED by "Calamity Ganon". Thus the resurrection chamber at the beginning, albeit some time between death and revive may have passed since Hyrule is in ruins and filled with monsters. It doesn't help that Ganon, or some of his energy, is circling around Hyrule Castle.
Hell,Ganon may have finally gotten all of the Triforce in a canon entry of the series.

To be fair, the Historia was basically a half-assed attempt by Nintendo to finally answer the fandom's searching for a timeline, and they still probably make games without caring too much about the timeline.
