We all knew from the get-go that Nintendo was going to scale down its E3 presence in favor of Directs. Iwata, Reggie, and Mr. Yakuza guy all said as much, so why would you expect a massive turn-around from stated company policy?
This E3 was the Special Olympics across the board anyway.
