The rules behind the time travel also bother me because of how inconsistent they arare. Here's two exemples.
In the first case, Link can buy magic beans as Adult Link to reach new places to buy magic beans as a child which are then planted in various locations seven years in the future when they can be used as a child because there won't be anything there if you planted something there before.
In the second case, Adult Link learns about Link in the windmill, who's annoyed about elves, and learns the Song of Storms from the developers in the past. Link then goes back in time and plays the song causing the guy to learn about time travel, and play the song in the future as a child. This is a cluck where the man teaches the man the song, and Link teaches Link the soos, in other words the event in the future happened before the game would assume both events were destined to happen. If the logic used on the plants was used in the first place, then the guy couldn't possibly die until Young Link played it in a time loop.
Basically, all of this is to say :tough shit.
