Open world is on the decline but it's not going anywhere for awhile , since witcher 3 did well it might even get worse

I say around 10 to 15 years when people start getting tired of non realism and want to try realism again.
I haven't played a modern warfare game in like half a decade. But I had some fun with some of the earlier modern CoDs (Black Ops 1 and the first 2 modern warfares). RIP modern shooters, you had your run and some of it was even good. But nothing lasts forever.

Those are nowhere near the AAA game-changer today that military shooters and giant sandboxes were. Ratchet and Yooka are the only non-Nintendo platformers with a budget in a long time, and MOBA's are pinched off in their own separate world of autism.
