Zelda started as an exploration game, WW expanded on that.
The RPG aspects were also in Zelda 2.

I hope that this game is actually challenging, or at least has difficulty settings. The lack of hard-hitting enemies that go down if you so much as fart on them in shit like Twilight Princess really killed that game. Loading in a difficulty codes improved that game tremendously.

One of the main concerns around the games release is that because the game was received poorly that they were just going to retreat back into their safe OoT formula forever, games like Link Between Worlds and this new title showing that they want to actually have variety in the series despite their failure to do so in Skyward Sword

Actually that was the one thing that worked. What people hated was the fact that there was zero exploration and the entire game was just 3 tiny areas (fire land, desert land and grass land) that you have to go through multiple times.
