Well humanity left Earth and robots are fighting robots. It reminds me of an anime where warfare became exclusively fought with robots, but the consequence was that war never ends anymore because war became just another financial expense. No one protests about warfare or desire to make peace, because no one dies anymore. But the robots that fight these wars are fully sentient, and that means they are intelligent beings sent to fight for humans, and get destroyed for no real reason. And in the end that is rather unfair.

In retrospect, that makes sense. Because it means it didn't delete EVERYTHING; it kept a record of your character in its database. By refusing to let you use that name, you have proof that you once had a character who complexed all the side quests. So yes, your file was deleted, but it is also permanently recorded. The absence of your character is the same shape as the character himself.

I would describe the game as an unpolished and rough diamond - it is still a precious diamond nonetheless.
I personally loved the universe, the characters. The OST was one of the all time GOATEST in all of media. I loved the story and the little details and that it did things differently than other games, even going beyond the medium video games and playing with meta stuff.
Nier and Demon's Souls are my only two favourite games of the 7th gen. I love everything about it, even its flaws.

Sorry, but that is backstory but not directly relevant to the main story of the anime. Basically one of the characters is an AI warship who was allowed to retire after many years of service, and what I just told you is basically her back-story. The anime itself is a simple slice of life about an alien who was a half-earthling girl, who came to Earth to find her heritage.
Really, there is nothing that dramatic or exciting about the anime. I just liked the background setting.
It's called "The World of Narue", I can't really recommend it as a whole. Nevermind the fact that we are not even on /a/.
