The game is obviously going to be different. Now, a few considerations:
1) Different doesn't mean bad
2) The game could still have parts of it that resemble the old GoWs. Because when you show your game you're not only willing to represent what the game as a whole is but showing what's new is important as well.
3) The original trilogy had it's story closed. It's totally legit to make some changes to the gameplay and the pace for a new one.
4) Maybe they could have given this game another name. That's for sure.
