Nintendo have made it pretty clear that they don't care about E3 or even need it to show their hand.
If today's showcase is a disaster, it won't matter. It will right here and now, but by the time next year rolls around, people will have cooled off, they'll have presumably revealed the NX, and newer and more exciting videos and advertisements for the new Zelda, with no E3 to compare it with.
I think some people here put way, waaaaaaaay too much stock in E3.
