AFAIK every "Play everywhere" Xbone+PC multiplat has crossplay, so you don't need an Xbone to play with your friends.

The Scorpio isn't a replacement for the Xbone. It's an option for power users. It's going to be very expensive (way over $1000) but is designed for the hardcore Xbone fans who want the Xbone but want the most out of it.

You could look at the specs? The graphics card they are boasting it'll have is going to cost over $500 on it's own.
To make a PC capable of doing the things they claim this console can do (4k at 60 FPS) will cost you over $1000. Given consoles are always more expensive than equivalent powered PCs, you're going to be paying even more.
It's the same shit they did with the elite controller. Normal people will just buy one for $30. Power users who like the Xbox brand will buy the elite one for $150. Xbone is the normal controller, Scorpio is the elite controller.

Honest question. Why do you care. xbone and PC are practically the same architecture, so once underlying code base. Maybe some higher res textures thrown in for PC and some mods (which now are coming to consoles anyway).
So what is the problem? I could see merit in 'muh exclusives' when they had different hw architecture meaning you had different code bases for different platforms and ports were generally shit.
If you have xbone, continue having fun with it, if you have pc, continue having fun with it. Having fun, I think, was the main reason for gaming, no?
